Cubicles Lyrics - My Chemical Romance

Review The Song (33)

It's the tearing sound of love notes
Drowning out these gray stained windows
And the view outside is sterile
And I'm only two cubes down
I'd photocopy all the things that we could be
If you took the time to notice me
But you can't now
I don't blame you
And it's not your fault that no one ever does

But you don't work here anymore
It's just a vacant three by four
And they might fill your place
A temporary stand in for your face
This happens all the time
And I can't help but think I'll die alone

So I'll spend my time with strangers
A condition and it's terminal
In this water cooler romance
And it's coming to a close
We could be in the park and dancing by a tree
Kicking over blades we see
Or a dark beach
With a black view
And pin-pricks in the velvet catch our fall

But you don't work here anymore
It's just a vacant three by four
And they might fill your place
A temporary stand in for your face
This happens all the time
And I can't help but think I'll die alone

I know you don't work here anymore
I know you don't work here anymore
I know you don't work here anymore
I know you don't work here anymore
I know you don't work here anymore
I know you don't work here anymore

Sometimes I think I'll die alone
Sometimes I think I'll die alone
Sometimes I think I'll die alone
Live and breathe and die alone
Sometimes I think I'll die alone
Sometimes I think I'll die alone
Sometimes I think I'll die alone
I think I'd love to die alone

Just take
I think I'd love to die
Me down
I think I'd love to die
Just take
I think I'd love to die
Me down
I think I'd love to die alone
I think I'd love to die alone
I think I'd love to die alone
I think I'd love to die alone
Live and breathe and die alone
I think I'd love to die alone
I think I'd love to die alone

I think I'd love to die alone

i think morrisey has an influence on the lyrics in cubicles. songs like how soon is now and other smith songs about no hope of finding a relasionship. i love the first three lines' its the taring sound of love notes drowning out these gray staind window and the veiw outside is sterile. just brillent.

Bullshit | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/2/12

To everyone who's saying My Chem has 'sold out' you are ignorant little fuckers who live in the past.

Now don't get me wrong, I thought Danger Days didn't really live up to their old stuff, but even if I thought it did, that wouldn't matter at all. Cause at least I accept the fact that they have matured, they have found a way to grow out of their emo little shell (for lack of a better term) and explode with colors. I think its fucking amazing. How often do you see bands with that kind of versatility?

Yes, Bulllets was definitely their most honest album. Revenge, I think, was their prime because it was still honest but had better flow than Bullets. The Black Parade had a grander theme, which I admired, and I loved it all the same. Danger Days really was a risky move for them, and I know they knew they could lose the assholes that call themselves fans like yourself who refuse to grow up with the band, but they took the chance anyway.

I'm not saying you have to like their newer stuff, but at least fucking respect it.

I quite like this song.. It's weird when you relate to a song so much!! And really creepy! It's like they traveled to the future, stalked me and then wrote my life out to me.. Darn:)

too motherfuckin' old for this shit | Reviewer: too motherfuckin old | 12/4/10

shut up and have fun your life is too short to argue about dumb shit like this. sell outs or washups or whatever...no one has the right answer. if getting your opinion out there helps you sleep at night go for it but im telling you just ignore everyone and have fun with their music. dont let anyone take that from you!

There old albums are amazing. Black parade really has sold it and is just appeal to the lil sceney kids. Bullets and 3 cheers are mad albums and if they sell well or have differences then its the artists job to evolve and to add individualistic sound to each album

Define Sold out

If by Sold out you mean that more people bought their CDs, yes, they totally sold out.

Every band evolves, my chem more than any other, if not, all band cds would sound the same and that to me is not remain "pure" that's just lack of originality and creativity.

Bullets was good because it was produced by Geoff Rickly (thursday) after that they just sold out; did whatever the media told them to so they could get more teenie bopper fans. Bullets was their only 'real' album. I hope they do go back to their roots, because at least they cared about what they put out... You will NEVER catch me listening to anything but bullets...same with most bands unfortunately. Taking back sunday's first album was gold. Saves the Day's first album, and through being cool and stay what you are were amazing...

Cubicles is an example of what you shouldn't do | Reviewer: Revenge | 1/2/10

I think this song is not satiric, I mean, Gerard really meant those things, 'couse he, after all, tryed to kill himself in highschool. I think in this song he remember those times and write what he had felt, I understand him perfectly, I think is 'couse of that that they hate this song... their label of "emo" is because of bullets. "demolition lovers" lyrics kinda sound emo too, or "drowning lessons" And now they look back and see this link to the "emo" world, and they say "this song is shit" so not to be labelled. I think they dont have to be ashamed, 'cose we, the true fans, know the truth of songs like this, and fuck the others, let them think what they like and hear their precious Hannah Montana or 50 cent CDs

My Chemical Romance ARE NOT emo. This songs are in the album as the example that doesnt have to be followed, you just have to hear "headfirst for halos" in this very CD, explains it all.

And about other thing; the people that like parade are not necesary posers, 'couse parade is also a MCR cd. If you notice, each CD is different, My Chem is not a normal band, is not like blink 182, sum 41 or whatever, that all cds have the same style, every cd has its pesonality, its objetive. Bullets was mostly post hardcore, Revenge was more punk, parade was pop punk and th next album is gonna be more retro. Its the amazing thing about My Chemical Romance, u never get bored of listening.

My favourite CD (as you can guess from my nick) is Revenge.

I love Bullets!! :D But i love their other albums too! LOVE CUBICLES!

But i think they would be labeled as emo by the "i think I'd love to die" but i think that was a whole satire thing about how people sort of exaggerate and feel like if they dont have this person, then they would rather have no one. I think they use satire for mostof their songs, but thats just my opinion. Regardless, MCR's songs are AMAZING! :)

Btw, i love the whole idea and story of this song!! its something that soooo many people go through, and it perfectly illustrates the mindset someone would have in that kind of situation. I dont care if people this song is wierd. CUBICLES IS THE BESTEST THING EVER!! :O

Yep | Reviewer: Me | 2/18/09

Yes, I agree with the others, Bullets was definitely the best album.

But just to clear a bit of confusion up, The Black Parade was a concept album. The whole thing is about a cancer patient dying and his whole life put into an album...or pieces of it, whatever.

Anyway, what I'm here for: PEOPLE: the new album that My Chem is going to release will GO BACK to their roots. So we get a bit more of "real songs." Hope that cheers ya up.
Well always lookin for more fans.

i think i'd love to die alone | Reviewer: todd | 2/11/09

i hadn't previously heard that they dislikd this song, though it's probably cause of the lyrics "id love to die". this is the kind of lyric that fits the kind of image they are trying to reject. back then they wouldn't have known they would be labeled as emo, so didn't think twice about it. this is all only theory.
I MISS YOU.

duuuuuuuude this is an awesome song, its totally wizard. bullets is my favourite my chem album by far. i really like their older stuff. ergh, the black parade is alright, it just kind of broke my heart to think they were sell-outs.

Wow. true fans looking at MCR lyrics :) you probably would think they know the song off my heart. I agree. Bullets was the best album ever. I hate the Black Parade, definitly not an improvement at all. I think they're sell outs.
