I love this song, the music is mind melding - even for being from 1969. Great song. I also love his vocals in this song very much. He was a full blown heroin addict, lsd was a standard consumable...but was it an intended suicide note to himself. at that point in time he was going down hill physically. & then it became a love story . I've heard that he mistakenly thought they wanted him to write all the songs for the movie (in addition to starring in it) but then they didn't use his music for it.
