Review about The Ecstasy Of Gold Enlightening | Reviewer: Ben | 10/24/2007
I feel that this song is one of the most powerful songs created and performed by metallica because it induces every emotion known to man! When listening to this song, it makes me feel like im at the head of a frontal attack, riding high, going into the abyss!
first of all, I like to say something to "DAVEYD" about his review ("... no lyrics a bit dissapointing ...")
This is a song that doesn't need any lyrics, if I just listen to the music and close my eyes, I can feel something more then what lyrics can do.
I cannot explain it, but it's an amazing feeling.
For the rest: this song can make me happy when I need it, but it can also make me sad if I want to let it all go, once in a while.
The first time I heard this, I was... speecheless, I didn't had to say anything to explain how great this song is.
I love this song it makes me feel so calm and happy. If I'm feeling down i just put my headphones in and its the best thing for me.Yes, Metallica always open their shows with the original Ennio Morricone version. I went to Wembley Stadium as part of their sick of the Studio tour i sounded amazing.
If you're interested in ennio Morricone soundtracks, you'll probably like the music to "Death Rides a Horse" my dad likes westerns, and he made me watch the film, but the music is amazing!!
A little background on the song; It was originally composed by Ennio Morricone for The Good, The Bad and The Ugly soundtrack. Yes, Metallica HAS been opening shows with the song since 1983. But, the version that was played was a recording of Ennio Morricone's version. It was not performed by the band until 1999 on the S&M album, which all you die hard Metallica fans know was, with the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra. In 2007 Metallica FINALLY recorded their rendition of the masterpiece for a tribute album entitled "We All Love Ennio Morricone". Sorry if I come off as a know-it-all. That is not my intention. I was just letting yu ladies and gentlemen in on the facts.
Keep on rockin'!
AWESOME!! | Reviewer: DAVEYD | 7/1/2007
So Awesome i can listen to this round and round and it just gets cooler and cooler no lyrics a bit dissapointing, been to two concerts and bth started with it makes the concert start off with power and by the end you just dont wanna stop rockin
THis song kicked my ass. I was at work when it came on and I almost caught my finger in the machine. By the end of it I realized I was holding my breath. I didn't hear the setup or title for the Dj. It just sounded like the introduction for one badass song. The swelling riffs and dipping baselines seemed to promise something awesome was coming up but then it ended with NO FREAKING WORDS!!! I was anything but disapointed This Song ROOOOCKKS!!!
