"I'm here for you," she said
and we can stay for awhile,
my boyfriend's gone
we can just pretend.
Lips that need no introduction
Now who's the greater sin
Your drab eyes seem to invite
(tell me darling) Where do we begin.
Was this over before...
before it ever began?
Your kiss, your calls, your crutch
Like the devil's got your hand
This was over before
Before it ever began
Your lips, your lies, your lust
Like the devil's in your hands
Everyone in this town
is seeing somebody else
Everybody's tired of someone
our eyes wander for help
Prayers that need no answer now
I'm tired of who I am
You were my greatest mistake
I fell in love with your sin
Your littlest+sin
Was this over before...
before it ever began?
Your kiss, your calls, your crutch
Like the devil's got your hand
This was over before
Before it ever began
Your lips, your lies, your lust
Like the devil's in your hands
Failure is your disease
You want my outline drawn
You were my greatest failure
Discourse your saving song
(This part would take place of it)

Can you please stop with he Christian insulting? We choose our own faith, it is an opinion. Saying someone is stupid because they are a Christian is like saying people who like the color orange are stupid. This song isn't even about dissing Christians. It's about whatever you want it to be about, although there are some topics that it isn't about. Dissing Christians is one of them.
fuck you | Reviewer: Anonymous | 2/2/10

It simply doesn't matter what the song is about, just that you like the song. Each person interprets it in their own way. Make the song whatever you want it to be. I am not Christian, nor do I like any religion as whole, but I still like songs produced by Christian bands. Examples: Barlow Girl, Creed,... (etc.) Anberlin isn't a Christian band anyway. Stop arguing about it over a comment forum underneath the lyrics to the song. Go start a thread somewhere if you must.
Religion is cancer. | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/6/10
One day we will become a civilized society when we dispose of religion. Who gives a shit if this is a religious song or not. It's a great song with powerful emotions. Who gives a shit if the band is Christian? Does that mean that forevermore all their songs are somehow Christian, too? Some of the greatest poets of all time were not religious, yet they wrote beautiful poetry about religion. Learn to separate the artist from the art.
Religious people get their knickers in a bunch whenever they think they have a chance to act like they're being persecuted or that someone is talking about them. You're all a bunch of cowards inventing some promise of eternal happiness to pretend you won't die. You're all complicit in the evils perpetrated by your religious leaders. You all think your god is greater than the others yet you have no proof that yours exists no more than Zeus (who is a whole metric fuckton cooler than the bitter, angry, jealous, Christian god).
Christians are the worst. You don't even know how to spell the last chapter of your own ridiculous book. I will venture that the vast majority of you haven't even read the Bible, otherwise you'd be atheist. Religion poisons everything that is beautiful about life, nature, and art.
For all the ranting | Reviewer: Anonymous | 12/22/09
If you look up the interview/song meaning of this song it isn't about christianity or God. As a matter of fact Anberlin isn't even classified as Christian rock rather alternative rock just because they are on tooth nail records means nothing. The lead singer stated that yes his faith effects every aspect of his life but he isn't a preacher he's an entertainer. So that's to say he won't make songs to shove his views on anybody. And the lead singer also doesn't consider the band a christian band. So for all of you thinking that this song along with the band is preaching on and on about their supposed religion your wrong. I'm not trying to be mean but you guys gotta look up your facts before you start ranting out of your asses. On another note this song is about entering a relationship that you know is destined to fail no matter how much your blinded by words or actions. And lastly I LOVE THIS SONG and Anberlin they're great :)
good song | Reviewer: Michael | 12/16/09
this is a good song and it can be interpreted from a secular perspective or a Christian view. For those that choose to look down on Christianity that is their choice. God has nothing to do with religion as some of you morons think. This song is about morals, but from a secular point of view one can not see it for what it is. That is why this relationship has ended before it has begun. Also note your kiss, your calls, your crutch like the devils got your hand. Your lips your lies your lust. For you haters we still love you even if you are ignorant.
lol at christians | Reviewer: Anonymous | 11/29/09
Why the hell do all the christians have to make good songs about their religion I mean c'mon, they didn't invent morality and living the good life... heck the world has given you a day to care about your God so save it for my sleep in day.
If you would listen | Reviewer: Anonymous | 11/24/09
I think this is a great song and I also believe anbelin is a great band. Whether it is christen or not it still has good meaning, its something that you really have to understand. As for me I am a christen and although I don't like the comments that some people here have posted, comments against christens. I must say that I know who god is and he wants you to know he loves you.
what the hell? | Reviewer: Anonymous | 11/22/09
what are people going on about? this song has nothing to do about christianity or feeling "obligated to stay in a relationship with someone". this song is about cheating and how this guy has feelings for the girl but theyre relationship is over before it even begins becase she has a boyfriend but he still has feelings for her. basically just talking about a situation that really sucks. leave the "christian" morals and shit for creed and church.
