Review about Time To Die Homage to the film "Blade Runner" | Reviewer: Anonymous | 11/15/2007 leave it to Gary Numan, whose music seems a fitting meld of goth and science fiction to create a piece of music that captures the atmosphere of arguably one of the greatest science fiction films of all time. One of the final scenes of this classic film takes place between Rutger Hauer (arguably his best performance aside from "Blood of Heroes") and Harrison Ford, in which Hauer's "replicant" character's "life clock" has finally run out. He has only enough time to tell of things he has seen and how his memories are all lost now, "Like tears in rain. Time to die.", and with that, he expires. This song does indeed capture the feeling of regret and loss in the dreamy soundscape of keyboards and synthesized vocals that are Numan's forte. It's a beautiful, haunting song and leads one to suspect that Numan would be well sought out to compose a soundtrack for the right project (besides "Dark City", of course...)
