Unnamed Feeling Lyrics
Artist(Band):Metallica
Review The Song (23)Print the Lyrics
Been here before (6x)

Been here before couldn't say I liked it
Then do I start writing all this down
Just let me plug you into my world
Can't you help me be un-crazy

Name this for me, heat the cold air
Take the chill off of my life
And if I could I'd turn my eyes
To look inside to see what's coming

Pre:
It comes alive (3x)
And I die a little more
It comes alive (3x)
Each moment here til I die a little more
Ooh, i die i die i die a little more..

Chorus 1:
then the unnamed feeling
It comes alive
then the unnamed feeling
Takes me away

(Been here before) (6x)

I'm frantic in your soothing arms
I cannot sleep in this down filled world
Found safety in this loneliness
But I cannot stand it anymore

Cross my heart hope not to die
Swallow evil, ride the sky
Lose myself in a crowded room
You fool, you fool, it'll be here soon

Pre:
It comes alive (3x)
And I die a little more
It comes alive (3x)
Each moment here I die a little more
Ooh, i die i die i die a little more..

Chorus 2:
then the unnamed feeling
It comes alive
then the unnamed feeling
Treats me this way
And I wait for this train
Toes over the line
Then the unnamed feeling
It takes me away, it takes me..

then the unnamed feeling
It comes alive
then the unnamed feeling
Takes me away
Yeah, it takes me away

Bridge:
Get the fuck out of here
I just wanna get the fuck away from me
I rage, I glaze, I hurt, I hate
I hate it all, why why why me?

I cannot sleep with a head like this
I wanna cry, I wanna scream
I rage, I glaze, I hurt, I hate
I wanna hate it all away
(Solo)
(Return to Chorus 2)
(Return to Chorus 1)

Every album of metallica is great as it is. they dont make it as the fans want it but how they want it.. how they feel... the people who dont apreciete this album has a problem with therself its a good album just like all the others diff but who says diff is bad? i love this song the lyrics are to good. metallica makes every song special with there own style

amazing song!!! | Reviewer: Erick | 7/2/09

For as young as I am I am a diehard metallica fan, every once in a while i go through every song, every album, and with St.Anger it has to take a month to listen to because the songs are so catchy and have such a deep meaningi need to listen to it nonstop, this song has to be the greatest on the album the lyrics are incredibly deep and you can really have your own meaning to it, it has that soft/heavy tone that just draws the song into your head and it gets stuck in your head refusing to leave, at least for me anyways, this is their most emotional album really. They are not talking about the usual stuff, its heart entering deep material, especially this song there is just something to it. I think it perfectly fits anyne going through a rough time and needs a little assistance in getting through and coping in a way... Metallica alays and forever R.I.P Cliff wish you could of been here the whole way...

St. Anger | Reviewer: Anonymous | 3/31/09

Used to hate St. Anger, big disappointment in the whole Metallica franchise.

But then, I was having an incredibly shitty week, feeling anger, hatred, frustration, irritation, dehumanizing thoughts and needing a release.

So naturally, I stumbled across St. Anger and decided what the hell, give it another shot.

When you're in that mindframe, it's the best fucking cd you will ever listen to.

Everything finally made sense on that cd, all the hatred anger and frustration venting out across 11 In-Your-Face-Fuck-You tracks that soothed the pain and made me feel invincible.

The Unnamed Feeling... | Reviewer: Becky Hammett | 3/29/09

I think people need to take a fucking long hard look at the lyrics to this song.
They are amazing and have helped me through a lot of hard times, and I feel that everyone could relate to these lyrics at some point in their lives.
They are strong and powerful, and as for the instrumental work on this song, I think it's fantastic, the effects used, plus the hard work and effort put into it.
No matter what any of you fuckers say, Metallica are an extremely fucking talented band, who are all SUPERB musicians, hence why they've been together for over 20 years now.
They are still a strong unit, who write all their own material and stay loyal to their fans, playing immense gigs, and STILL releasing albums even though they aren't the youngest of bands.
Also, I'd just like to say, anybody who doesn't like the album 'St. Anger', you all say the album is shit in comparison to their other albums...
well matter of fact is you fucking dick heads, that EVERY ALBUM THEY HAVE RELEASED HAS BEEN A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT STYLE!!!
They've changed their fucking style and sound with every album they've produced so they don't end up sounding like the same old controversial bullshit which people hail with positive reviews and kiss the fucking ground that ammatuer, pathetic, unoriginal fucking bands release.
Yes, people are entitled to having a personal taste in which album style they prefer, but for fuck sake, stop being so petty!
You don't have to LIKE every single goddamn album!
Just appreciate that these guys are fantastic musicians, who have still got it in them to work hard and provide their fans with something new and refreshing every time.
Wanna discuss this further? Because I'm really pissed off and ready to take any of you fuckers on.
If so here's my email - neo_3@hotmail.co.uk

See you around.

Total Metal | Reviewer: Full Metal Jacket | 2/14/09

You know what? If you do not like St. Anger, Death Magnetic or any other album then you can simply not listen or sell the album if you bought it.

This constant controversy over MetallicA "selling out" has been raging ever since they did the Justice album and released ONE on MTV.

MetallicA did what they want for themselves and they invite you along for the ride. You don't like it? Motherfucker there is the door. You can exit stage left.

James's anger | Reviewer: Cammy! | 11/13/08

I honestly don't know why people say this album is not good... I guess most people just don't see that this is all about James getting rid of his demons... I love the album and I guess everyone who's been angry to death will too... Though they have better albums I still think St. Anger is Metallica! And besides, they are just perfect! Everything they do is perfect!

some review | Reviewer: some person | 8/24/08

5 years and this fight whether st. anger is a good album or not is still on. several great compositions, some songs to just fill up the numbers. all arrangements have been worked on in a jamming style, which is somehow a good method, but compromising in comparison with sitting and discussing the details. some songs have really nice arrangements, like "dirty window", "my world" and "the unnamed feeling". awful production, no thought about making it sound all nice and commercial like the black album at all. no sound engineering, just the very very raw sound of the band+ james' voice which is somehow inapropriate for that kind of style of singing. furthermore, the melody of his singing is sometimes very original, but sometimes very very trite, because i am 99% sure his singing was just the best improvisation he would come up with while jamming with the band. the base guitar player is awsome and brings soo much anger into "st. anger", although he is an ex-funk music player. incredible lyrics with which james hetfield opens up his heart secretly and few understand what he means, but he declares it to the public in a very secretive and yet open way. for all those who discuss metallica selling themselves commercial, they can read the lyrics of the album and learn about james' struggle to be true to himself. i think it is very difficult not to sell urself for money when u are that popular, the temptation is enourmous, but i dont like the people who mess in the stars' decision whether to do it or not. first the stars are heroes, because they create these and these songs, and then they are vilains because they do what most of us would do anyway if we were in their shoes - try to make as much money as possible. the choice what music to listen to is ours and we can turn to whatever non-commercial artists we want, there are thousands of thousands of them. furthermore, if any fans lie to themselves that metallica wasnt trying to be commercial in "ride the lightning, master of puppets", "and justice for all", etc. and then with a magical wand sold themselves in "load", "reload" and so on, i hate to break it upon u, but metallica, as every famous artist, ALWAYS THOUGHT about hundreds of non-music beneficial issues like "how long shud this solo be? let's make the solos in this album about 30 seconds, medium aggression, some very fast picking to impress the teens and then not use too many different scales and stick to the pentatonic so that we dont make it too complicated", and hundreds and hundreds of similar considerations made during the production of an album. yes, of course even during the "non-commercial" 80s. and yes, if u want metallica not to sell themselves so much, if u just want them to enjoy themselves and play whatever music brings them joy, i dont think that they wud even be playing metal music at all, i am 100% sure that kirk hammet plays completely different styles of music for enjoyment and just tries to enjoy his life of a star too, entertaining the crowds, giving them what they want and enjoying the attention and money. i also want to express my dissaporval of the 2 completely opposite oppinions that dominate: 1. "st.anger" is disgusting, and 2nd., "st.anger" is awesome, u r not a true metallica fan if u dont love all their albums. well of course i am not a true metallica fan then. i dont suffer from these stupid complexes that i shud like everything. there are sooo many great artists out there with a different sound than metal music, it is cynical to lie to urself that everything by metallica is great when u compare it to some piece of music that required a huuuge deal of work, like "blue powder" by steve vai, for example. y is it so shameful to confess that musicians are human and sometimes they work harder on their music and receive better results, and sometimes they dont put in as much work and receive poor critique, is it that bad? y do we have double standards - if we dont put enough work into something we know that we dont deserve good results, but metallica are special, they r not humans, and when they make som
e song or a whole album faster or commercial, they need special protection and they still deserve good results. "st. anger" is neither disgusting nor awesome. i personally can enjoy from time to time, once in some months, some of the songs in the album, coz i can hear past the poor production and the fast recording process and just enjoy the compositions, the energy, and sometimes th raw sound. call it whatever u want.

open your minds | Reviewer: Anonymous | 8/19/08

i love what some people say about this album, but the people that are talking about it like its crap, well you need to realized, this was metallica's experimental album if you will, ok so they wanted to try somthing new with the guitars, i dont blame them, every one is so into nu metal that they wanted to see if maybe they could try it and make it work, and personally i think they did, from a lyrical stand point this album is way better than all their other music, it has so much passion and meaning to every song, so what it may not make sense to you or it may not please your ears but if you knew the kind of problems these guys had and still havem, you would know that there is years of anger and rage that they just needed to express,

either way, every song by metallica is amazing and their music has influenced so many bands, cant wait for death magnetic, sept 12

metallica rules!!!
