Lyrics Don't Have Meaning | Reviewer: Anon | 3/9/09
The lyrics of the song do not have meaning, they are words and you put meaning to them. You listen to the song, and you apply it to your life in the way you want. They are just words, you're interpreting the way you want to.
The wonderful thing about music is I can say one thing and millions of people get something different out of it.
I Like Men | Reviewer: Da Mosher | 2/22/09
I'd just like to say that I love men, I know it's nothing to do with the song The Kill but I need to get my opinion out in the open, I'm loving the song aswell by the way. I'd also like to say that I want sex. That is all.
The Meaning of the song | Reviewer: Jana | 2/15/09
There are varying degrees of interpretation for this song but if you really listen to the song, it's about the struggles of being torn apart inside by someone you want to be and the ONE others want you to be. It's only when you find the power to be who you are suppose to be that you will become the one you are meant to be..You're like a caterpillar and you become the butterfly you were always meant to be. This song has nothing to do with Love. It has nothing to do with relationships with someone else, it's about the relationship one has within them. It's a relationship between mind and body, mental strength against societal pressures. It's about overcoming the desire to make everyone happy except yourself. In the end, it's always best to break out of that cocoon and show them all the real person inside.....
Um... does the title of my comment really matter? | Reviewer: Anonymous | 2/9/09
Really you can interpret it any way you want. If you think he's got sexual addictions life Rivers Quomo (or how ever you spell it) of Weezer, then you can interpret it that way. If you think he's got a girlfriend that's hurting him then you can interpret it that way. Really allot of it is effected by what's going on in your own life.

god, i read those reviews and i wonder : am i insane or are u insane :D i dont see any literally killing and insanity in this song.. i see a guy, whose beloved is killing him..like killing him inside, like everything she says and does reflect on him in the very worst way and he cant take it, he cant find the strength in himself to be able to take it.. so he tells her to bury him, so he could escape from this cruel reality, to be dead and emotionless.. he also says that he tried to be someone else, to be different for her, so that she doesnt do everything she actually does to him, but he saw no change in their relationship and he finally finds out that the person he actually is, is the one he really is..and that she is the wrong one..and still he loves her, she is everything to him and he cant stop himself from hurting himself by being with her..
a really , really beautiful song i can relate to, too..
obsessed guy | Reviewer: anonymous | 2/1/09
My interpretation of this song: it's a guy with problems in his head, he splits from a girl who did like him at the point where he's losing his mind and she is pissed off (wants to bury him) but then half of him wants to get back or maybe is just still obsessed with her in some way. That is, he's the one who left her but at the same time he's still around. He wants her back in some form even if it's for her to be pissed at him.
song meaning | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/4/09
I actually had the pleasure of meeting Jared Leto at "Warped" a few years back and asked him the meaning to this song. It's actually about how people go through choosing who they want to be in life and wondering which person inside is really the person that YOU are. It's all about finding yourself.

A curious song with many interpretations, I think. I can see just about everyone's opinion of this song, but this is the meaning I've come up with:
The singer is a vain person, absorbed in his own image. However, he is someone else entirely on the inside--perhaps someone even insane or weak or suicidal. He's telling someone dear, probably a loved one, that if he ever loses himself to that insane person, he wants to be stopped, even at the expense of his life ("What if... Come, break me down"). The way he sings makes it seem as if that moment of utter madness has finally come ("Look in my eyes") and he's being killed ("You're killing me, killing me"), and he wants to die, but he doesn't want to leave ("All I wanted was you").
It's a good, passionate song, performed well with a heartbreaking image. The screaming added in also plays well as it brings forth images of pain.
Split Personalities | Reviewer: Kelsey xx | 12/26/08
Personally, I think that he has split personalities, that's why he wants a break, and why he is saying this is who I really am, but I'm still cofused with why the whole band has two of them though, HAHA!
Emotional death is the real reference | Reviewer: tiffanyabingdon@aol.com | 12/21/08
This is a song about a guy who was madly in love with an insecure psychopath..he did everything that he could to help her with her severe insecurity issues and nothing was ever good enough and thru it realized that he could never make her happy and the harder he tried, the more unsatisfied and insecure (needy maybe) she became..
you see even tho he only wanted to be with her..she was sick in the head and would never see it that way and after a while he just wanted out of the madness (relationship~ not life)..in or out~ either reality was gonna hurt..he couldnt win for losing but he had given up cuz there was no point to continue in such a childish, one-way relationship anymore..
He was DONE!!!!
