The Reviews about Let There Be Rock (page 2/ 3)
------ performed by AC/DC

Another Correction | Reviewer: Mike | 1/14/09

Another correction needed, throughout their career, AC/DC has repeatedly said they are not satanists. The song you're probably citing, "Highway to Hell", is about life on the road as a rock and roll band. When a reporter asked them what life on the road was like, they replied "it's a fucking highway to hell". They also might have chosen the name of this song as an ironic contrast to Led Zeppelin's "Stairway to Heaven".

"We're not satanists, me mum would kill me for that"
-Malcom Young

AC/DC Unfortunately... | Reviewer: Brandon | 1/8/09

I love a few songs from AC/DC including this one, Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, and TNT. Unfortunately, they ARE satanic, and even stated themselves that they want to go to hell. :( I feel sorry for them, they are an amazing band!!! I was listening to them one day, and thought it was amazing, but was dissapointed they're ruining their lives by not turning to God instead of Satan.

Do Your Own Homework @$$wipe. | Reviewer: Mike | 1/3/09

Listen, nobody gives a flying rat's ass as to when Tchaikovsky died, these lyrics are brain meltingly awesome. And before you start criticizing AC/DC's lyrics do your own f***ing homework. The line "But Tchaikovsky had the news" is a reference to Chuck Berry's 1956 song "Roll Over Beethoven". In this song, Berry sings "Roll over beethoven, and tell Tchaikovsky the news", saying that classical music is dead and rock n' roll has taken the throne of popular music. Also, Angus Young and Bon Scott obviously don't consider Bill Haley and Jackie Brenston to be true rock n' roll. Bon Scott says that rock n' roll was invented in 1955 because Chuck Berry released his first single in...wait for it...1955!!! So before you write another stupid comment, hit the rock history books a little bit harder.

Long Live AC/DC!!!

Lyrics are inaccurate. | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/2/09

This song is so far from the actual birth of Rock and Roll its hilarious. "Back in nineteen fifty-five" "But Tchaikovsky had the news" This part is what destroys the whole song. Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky was a Russian classical music composer that died in 1893. He could no have invented it in 1955. Also the First Rock and Roll song is still under debate. Many say that Bill Haley's Rock around the Clock is the first while another large amount favor Jackie Brenstons Rocket 88 (which was put out in 1951). AC/DC needs to do their homeowork.

I first heard this song when MTV were just starting off showing music videos instead of all the crap they show today. One of the videos was 'Let There Be Rock' soon as I heard it I loved it - bought the album - bought all of their albums actually - but this my favourite track - it just rocks

ROCK | Reviewer: Anonymous | 7/28/07

One night in a club called `The Shaking Hand'
There was a fourty-two decibel rocking band
The music was good and the music was loud
And the singer turned and he said to the crowd -
"Let there be rock"
