This song is so perfect right now. I have it on repeat because it fits my life so well. My boyfriend/fiancee of two years left me for a 30yr old woman (who works at waffle house and lives with her mother) I'm 17, he's 18. She's 30. He cheated and lied and then left for her. So this song is perfect because it is exactly how I feel right now. I gave him everything (and I'm pregnant with his child) and he replaced me with 'an older version of me'

Watch out for the line "Of the cross I bear that you gave to me ", sounds distinctly like “Of the cross-eyed bear that you gave to me”. I’ve been singing that line for years, though never really understood her desire for her ‘cross-eyed bear’ to be returned.

I really like that song, I think it's about Alanis breakin' up with her ex-boyfriend Full House star Dave Coulier, I could shout "You, you, you oughta know", It's really a break-up song.
