The Reviews about Confined (page 3/ 5)
------ performed by As I Lay Dying

"I do love this band, but I disagree with you guys that they're necessarily a Christian metal band. I think it would be stretching it to say their lyrics, especially this song, have any ties to Christian principals."

I must say that I see some very strong ties to Christianity in this song. When they say "We have been poured out into this loveless bride", (first off let me mention that the church itself is often reffered to as the "Bride of Christ") they are directly mentioning how there are alot of people into church that do it just as a ritual instead of putting their heart and spirit into it. Today I see some churches that are in the strongest sense of the term a "loveless bride". I see myself getting caught up in life so much and concetrating on my self more than i should and coming back to remember the chorus of this song ("How quickly I forget, that this is meangingless"). All I should be worried about is being where God wants me instead of getting caught up in the meaningless there are in life.

50% Metal Core 50% Christian 100% Good | Reviewer: Daniel | 2/21/08

this band is good they are christian but not all there music including this song is christain, only half there songs are christian. Another good metal core/christian band is UnderOath but yet again only 50% METAL CORE 50% CHRISTIAN 100% GOOD

Metalcore | Reviewer: UlyssesThePagan | 2/14/08

As I Lay Dying was Metalcore which = christan metal, however its my opinon that after Clint Norris and other band members left, that their leaning more to death metal. Tim Lambesis has a great voice but As I Lay Dying isn't the same band from a few years ago. I still love them tho !

ok i saw them recently in kc/mo they are christian they shared their faith on stage you don't do that if you aren't christian. If you pay attention to the lyrics it's saying this earth is meaningless and all we have to look forward to is Heaven, for christians that is. This is my favorite song by them along with through struggle. They are my favorite band.

Ecclesiastes | Reviewer: NightGoat | 12/26/07

In the lyrics, Scripture from Ecclesiastes is more or less quoted when he says "...that this is meaningless...life slipping through his fingers...I still chase the wind....what have I learned from yesterday" So, there is some Christian background here people, like it or not.

Christian | Reviewer: M | 12/26/07

The lyrics of this are blatantly Christian --
How quickly I forget...
That this is meaningless.
in a world passing through my fingers.
I still chase the wind. --
I think it is talking about the material world being meaningless when you look at God's big picture.

Just my opinion anyways

just so you know, musicforlife, they may not be a Christian band, but the members ARE Christians, in case you've never seen them play a concert at cornerstone fest.

Fuck Yeah | Reviewer: Hadyn | 11/27/07

As I Lay Dying is an awesome band

However it will never be the same as it was when Clint Norris was in it, as he is in confined.

dont give me bullshit replies saying i dont like the band or else i wouldnt have paid $125 to see them in 08 Soundwave

Christ? | Reviewer: Bezi-fer McSatan | 11/27/07

AILD, gotts be one of my favorite "new" metal bands...they certainly aren't cut from the mold Im privy to...and Im not backing there message...but there music is as brutal as it gets, and for that...they get the nod.

Confined is probobly the best tune they've done...with many close behind.
