The Reviews about Nothing Left (page 1/1)
------ performed by As I Lay Dying

Fucking great | Reviewer: Dustin | 4/2/09

As I Lay Dying is my favorite band for so many reasons. Tim is a beast, Jordan- I dare someone to talk shit on his drumming, Nick and Phil shred riffs like no one's business, and Josh has a great singing voice, way better than Clint. And to top it off, God is on their side. They are heavy as hell and tear shit up. AILD FTW!!

Amazing | Reviewer: Nathan | 3/12/09

Christianity and Metal.

Does it get any better?

This song is a testament to the fact that religion bands can be as awesome as anyone else. And in As I Lay Dying's case, they ARE better then everyone else!

Life | Reviewer: Brett | 2/26/09

I've seen people talking about As I Lay Dying as a Christian band. This is obviously correct, they profess God with their lips on stage and off stage. They speak of life, life from a Christian perspective.

Let me incorporate some logic in here, ok? How do we gauge a particular band whether it is a christian metal or not? We qualify a band to the christian metal realm when in the very first place the members are christian by faith and more importantly christian by lyrics. More to that, the lyrical scheme contains directly or indirectly a biblical foundation. Do we recognize it in AILD. Precisely all these criteria characterize AILD. We dont question at all the first criterion since it comes from their mouths themselves that they are christians. How about the 2nd and 3rd criteria? It is incontestable that these traits are present in AILD as a band. AILD consistently, in all there lyrical formats, imprints a biblical or christian coloration, i.e, FORGIVENESS, LOVE, REPENTANCE... Insofar as CHRISTIAN METAL SUB-GENRE exists, we cannot help DUDE but to take it within the ambit of such metal SUB-GENRE. Furthermore, even if any of you would say that "how come there lyrics are christian when in fact it is founded on the experiential context. May it be experiential or not so long as AILD's musical configuration contains the 3 above-stated criteria, it is inarguable that it belongs to christian type of metal band. BUT I FUNCKN LOVE THE BAND. ONE 0F THE GREATEST BANDS EVER IN MUSIC HISTORY...

This one hits hard | Reviewer: Cameron | 8/6/08

The opening is one of the most powerful that I've heard to date. His choice of lyrics is moving. Some people say that As I Lay Dying is an "emo" band, to be honest it isn't. The lyrics make it seem that way. As I Lay Dying is one of the best heavy speed metal bands I've ever herd.

Quick note; The preformance for this song earned As I Lay Dying the award for best metal preformance of the year. \m/

This band speaks what I cannot. It takes the words right out of my mouth. Thank you guys for the music. Just to chill I put on a cd of yours and just listen. It all helps me think of things at a new perspective.

I'm not really sure about this one... | Reviewer: Chase | 4/16/08

I have loved AILD for years now, and listen to them almost religiously, but every now and then he writes a song that leaves me feeling like less than a true fan. Maybe I'm approaching metaphore like a wounded dog, but....what the hell is he talking about.
