Pina colada?! More like penis alotta!! | Reviewer: ButtPlugMansion | 3/24/09
how about you tool bags quit bitching on whether the band is christian or not. And start talking about what the lyrics actually mean. The symbolism behind them and what Tim is actually trying to say when he writes these words.
for example: Claudio from coheed and cambria, when he writes his lyrics he is writing a story. And each song tells a part of the story. And that's what these comment things should be for. Not fighting over something that is already established and that is that As I Lay Dying "IS" a christian metal band.
really??? | Reviewer: Dave | 3/10/09
ok marie, lets get serious here for one second. Bands dont have to have songs like "i love jesus" or whatever to make them a christian band. seriously its people like you that give christianity a bad name.
rediculous people | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/21/09
go on their site, and lookat the FAQ. they are in fact christian, they say so themselves. some of their songs are inspired by their beliefs, but they dont directly ....direct it towards their faith. take any of their songs as you will. it doesnt change anything to anyone other than yourself. enjoy the kickass song
christian lyrics | Reviewer: corey | 1/15/09
Im not sure how anyone could possibly come up with the assumption that AILD is not christian.
Look at their lyrics! They come STRAIGHT from scripture!
These guys are doing what they love to do, and praising God as they do it. It doesnt matter what people are judging them about.
God's given these guys talent, and they are using it to his advantage.
Look at any of their songs, you will see that they are derrived from mostly old testament passages in the Bible.
uh..there just a band | Reviewer: lj | 1/15/09
i dont know why their considered christian considering they themselves said that they dont let their faith control their music. just calm down and enjoy the music. why should you judge them either way. if they sound good listen. stop trying to claim them one way.
Follow up.... | Reviewer: Brett | 12/22/08
I will start by saying I am of the Christian faith. But i do agree with Brad who does not want our faiths pushed on him. He has his beliefs as well as everyone else. I do believe however, there are bands whom Jesus is speaking through. Most of which do beat around the bush. Killswitch Engage for example. Ever since Howard came along their lyrics have become overwelmingly obvious. In their newest album "As Daylight Dies" they use Biblical versus. I do not know if they understand the impact these bands have on kids going through a hard time. But the meaning comes from only one person :)
Christian Music | Reviewer: Marie | 12/18/08
If the lyrics are not pointing you to Jesus, then I don't care if the band calls themselves Christians they are not. A Christian is a follower of Christ and these bands that call themselves "Christians" are only doing that to pull God's people into a dark world.
Song Meaning | Reviewer: So This is Paradise | 12/15/08
I was listening to this song a few years back and now when i listened to it again i finally got what it meant. I can't seem to break up with my girlfriend even though she slept with another guy, cause i always say and let myself believe that i loved her, when actually I just did not want to lose the chance to have sex with her. I was crazy about her and was not able to think straight.
So, I struggled and tried my very best to be away from her. Then by being away I slowly found myself. After that struggling moment, though she was taken away from me, I was free from my lust, and hurt.
We can relate to this song in different ways though.
@bible | Reviewer: Anonymous | 12/13/08
you guys are all fucking idiots, especially the one that quoted this song and the bible to draw parallels. OF COURSE you can find something in the bible that talks about what they do in this song. News flash: life wasn't much different 2000 years ago- people still went through the same trials and tribulations that we do today. Hence, writing about them. There's no need to claim a religious connection: Both are just peoples trying to express their feelings.
AILD is great. | Reviewer: Kuhn | 12/8/08
AILD is a Christian band, and In doing so they are commanded to go and be "fishers of men". There ultimate goal is to help people with life's struggles and to minister to the dark world of metal.(it is impossible to be a christian and for your goal not to be to spread the gospel)
On a side note, even outside of it's Christian roots AILD is an amazing metal band.. that has a great overall message and refrains from using the dark and sometimes suicidal topics and "f--k you" type of songs(though that stuff can be all well and good too). AILD is the best metal band out there in my opinion.
