My Greatest Influence | Reviewer: Regine | 2/8/13

I know you'll probably never read this because, from what I hear, your busy with your classical music. But I wanted you to know that you are the reason I love rock and roll so much, your the reason I became a free thinker, you inspired me to get serious about piano playing and you dared not to get caught up in the hype, which inspired me to start thinking for myself. I love all of your music from piano man to innocent man to "Its still rock and roll to me"
One day when I become a real recording artist and my voice is heard, I will tell the world about my wonderful inspiration.

Greatest Modern Day Singer/songwriter | Reviewer: Terry Gatens | 1/29/13

The first time I heard Billy Joel he came to England and did a live concert for the BBC and played the Stranger Album from that day I was hooked he is for me along with Steely Dan one of the greatest singer songwriters that music has ever produced his music like the classical greats with be listen to for generations to come

hicksville friend | Reviewer: j.valentino | 8/1/11

Hey Billy. We met several times when I was very young. You were friends with my older sister. I graduated Hicks. High in 75. Remember Mid Island Plaza. (it might have been around 1969), my sister Pat, a friend of mine and myself were walking home from the Plaza and you pulled in a car your friend was driving, and my sister had just informed my girlfriend that you were a musician, at that point my friend reached into the car and deliberately dropped her comb into your lap so she could touch you. Although I was at your house and you at mine, was too young to remember you when I met you again at that time, so I was impressed with you as well. It's funny how certain memories stay with you forever, I'm 54 now. The next time I saw you was when I purchased tickets to take my sister to see you perform at a very small venue on Long Island in the latter part of the 70's. You two said hello to each other and that was it. I have almost all your music. Now my 16 year old son is a musician, fantastic guitarist. Hope you got to read this. Take care Billy.

The Green Piano | Reviewer: Peggy Miceli | 7/25/11

I grew up in Hicksville in the 60's, and my oldest sister was best friends with Billy's sister Judy. I remember when I was about 10, Billy came to our house with his sister to play our piano in our basement. Billy was about 15 or 16 then, and he was already incredible. I often wonder if Billy remembers playing our GREEN painted piano in our basement in Hicksville. Love you Billy

A note to William Joel | Reviewer: Tiffany | 6/29/10

I have been a fan of Billy Joels since I was seven years old I am only 17 now but still love your music and think your ace and your daughter is an ace singer too but I must say Billy Joel rules and cant wait til he comes back to the UK so we can go see him live at concert. x

Awesome | Reviewer: Joe F. | 6/6/10

I was born in 1981 on Long Island, in Levittown actually, and honestly did not realize how much of a musical influence Billy Joel had on my childhood. I remember watching MTV in the 80's and seeing "Uptown Girl" and thought wow what a lucky guy he gets to hang out with Christie Brinkley and watching the "We didn't Start the Fire" and having questions of the past 50 years for my parents, not realizing how talented and relatable his music is/was to my own life until recently. I think as I got older I learned to appreciate who I am and where I come from more and more everyday and he is a huge piece to this Long Island puzzle I live in. I also think he has put my parents generation into song, from the Baby Boom, to Vietnam, to the craziness of the 70's and 80's and onto to Parent and now Grandparenthood. I hope he continues to stay true to his roots and all he sees in this big world of ours.

Music Project... : ) | Reviewer: M-LNT-H | 5/30/10

Billy | Reviewer: Dhana Pilkinton | 5/6/10

Hi, my name is
Dhana. I just wanted to let you know I have grown up listening to your music. I listen to yours more than any others. I love Piano Man and the lullaby song. I remember seeing you in concert in the 80s in Valparaiso Indiana. I was attending Valpo U. at the time. I was 18. IT was the first concert I had ever attended and I will never forget it. It was Awesome! Take care.

Amazing | Reviewer: Dani | 4/19/10

Not knowing that i was one of his hugest fans, i herd "why should i worry' from oliver and company, and i fell in love. He has a way with his music in which makes you not care about all the crap in the world and just focus on living life, while your listening to his music.

a fan at the start my husband gave me a vinal of cold spring harbor | Reviewer: brenda wolf | 1/8/10

I grew up in a small town and my parents listened to country western, so I had a limited knowledge of rock. I did like the cream I heard them when I got my first radio the small ones. When I married my husband my knowledge of rock improved and as I said he gave me the album of cold spring harbor. I love it right away even though it was recorded to slow and I looked out for any other albums of yours. smatched up piano man and never looked back I have all your albums and an now in the process of getting them all down loaded so I can enjoy them again. I just want you to know that I know some of your back ground from internet and I think you seemed to be street smart growing up in new York and I read some where you were a boxer once. Well I just think you know a lot aabout how women feel and I have listen to some of your songs and cried I wish my husband would say or feel that way about me. I dont want to get personal but many of your songs touched me in that soft place. gush!!! I also heard your daughter and she is very talented and so pretty.

Thanks to whomever~<3 | Reviewer: Rachel Pocket | 4/13/09

I'm a high school student in the 11th grade and in my history class we were assigned an essay in which we were to write a couple of pages about "the most influential American 1950-2007" I chose Billy Joel and so far this Biography has offered the most information. It's a big help, thanks! ^-^
