Best male Friend played this song for me on his guitar while singing it... he couldn’t sing well but he said,,, this is a "Rebecca" song… it was the most touching song that has every been sung to me. He meant every word… hiding behind the song… came out true feelings…

I love this song as well. I once saw this song used in a video montage to a tiny newborn daughter. I thought it was so fitting for that scenario, even though it seems to be about a love for a woman. I now sing this song as a lullaby to my newborn daughter and she smiles everytime.

This song as i have seen from the other reviews is a perfect song for weddings and engajement partys. In the song the lyrics show how this man has such feelings of love for this woman that is almost unsure where he getts the from. "Shes got a way about her, I don't know what it is, but it lifts me up when we are walking...". That line is so passionate but in a way strange, because it's almost as if hes under a spell, because he fells a natural attraction to this woman but he doesn't know why...

this is my favorite billy joel song of all time. my fiancee and i had been considering it for a while for a wedding song and then decided on "just the way you are." for the last dance, he specially dedicated this to me and was the most romantic thing he's ever done. the lyrics to this are just so powerful. I hope this song is not about drugs, but either way - I have always loved Billy Joel's song writing, and this song being a classic was an inspiration for me. I spoke it (couldn't sing that well) to my girl friend the day I proposed to her. The ring, the flowers, and the lyrics to this song made it a wonderful event. I haven't heard the song in 9 years since I proposed, but heard it this morning. I sent the lyrics to my wife to let her know that I still feel so strongly about her. Recently pregnant, and happy, and very emotional, I started getting cold feet, feeling unsure of how my boyfriend really felt for me.
He was spending a lot of time on the internet, I thought he was playing poker, and he was really looking for this song to put on his website, about me! When I heard it I just about cried. Quiet like he can be, I guess I never quite understood how he cared for me.

This really is a beautiful and touching song and the wonderful thing about music is that it can mean anything to anyone. But I recently read that this song was not written about the love of a woman, but for a love of a particular drug (i belive heroine). Either way, great song but I could never have it as my wedding song anymore.

My son was recently married and this is the song he chose for the "Groom/Groom's mother" dance. I'd heard this song before but never really thought about the words until his wedding day. He told me that when he heard the song, he immediately thought of me and that it described how he felt about me. What a tribute! It is now at the top of my favorite's list.
