The Reviews about If We Are The Body (page 6/ 9)
------ performed by Casting Crowns

to the sunshine kid writing about homosexuality | Reviewer: tlane | 6/23/07

in the Bible it clearly states that NO sin is GREATER than the other, which means touching a football(which isn't a sin unless your taking the Bible literally and not metaphorically or symbolically)isn't any greater of a sin than being homosexual, yeah it seems more harsh but it isn't greater.
As for the song its talking about IF we were using our bodies as a temple for God then why isn't his body reaching out and loving one another. This song is trying to teach us that we need to be more outgoing in our faith and need to be walking closer to God in our faith in the world instead of being the "hypocrites" that come to church and say were christians and turn around and go party. It's saying our relationship with God is whats most important and nobody is fulfilling that.

Homosexuality | Reviewer: Elle | 6/25/07

God made each one of us and what He has made is good. If someone is homosexual, they cannot help that - God made them that way. They are our equals - everyone is the same in front of God. Homosexuality is not wrong. The Bible is dated - homosexuality is now part of our society and homosexuals must be accepted. As for "no sex outside marriage", I agree, this is correct but perhaps an exception for homosexuals? I think so. God will still love them as He loves all of us.

God | Reviewer: Soriah | 6/25/07

Isn't God so amazing? How he loves us is so outrageously beautifle and strong. Why he died for us is just amazing. I love you daddy!

Get over yourselfs | Reviewer: Annon. | 6/23/07

I've been reading in the bible. In Leviticus 18:22 it basically says that homosexuality is a sin. It also says this in Romans 1:26-27. But in 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 it says that homosexuality is forgiven because Jesus died for us. If you were real Christians, you would know this even if you hadn't read this passage. It says to 'love your neighbor.' And All I see you doing is scoring them for being sexually different. Your defeating the purpose of this reviewing section and being un-Christianly. You can chose to ignore or pay attention to this I don't mind, for God is our only Judge.

Back on topic: This is my favorite song, I heard it first while on my way to a church camp a while back. I fell in love with it. It spoke to me and I immediately learned the words. I forgot about it until at a church camp someone sang it at the talent show this year, I then found the words, again.

First off, capitolize God's name. Second, instead of arguing about homosexuality, let's just pray about it and witness to them in a not so harsh way. Arguing over this is defeating the purpose of the origional goal, which was to help these people and witness to them so that they would see God's Will. By making them angry, they are definitely not going to listen to us. If we can't be encouraging and uplifting, we need to keep our mouths shut. Thank you.

Jesus taught Love. | Reviewer: Anonymous | 6/10/07

"as far as the conversation about homosexuality...if i were a gay or lesbian individual i would not be very interested in learning about Jesus if His followers were trying to convince me of truth by saying I'm going to burn in hell!? i might be more interested if they might just love me."

Jesus never mentions homosexuality once, however.. he does mention divorce A LOT MORE THAN ONE TIME. Homosexuality is mentioned in the Old Testimate so they were not Jesus' followers. Shame on you all for believing homosexuality is a choice. Jesus did not judge and neither should you. Is heterosexuality a choice? And do people who are gay choose to be gay to risk their relationships with their family? It does not make sense. For the Anonymous poster, please get your facts straight before you go putting words in JESUS and his followers' mouth.

Jesus did teach to love all why are we excluding some?

Gods mercy is amazing | Reviewer: Loki | 6/1/07

ok so it's like 3 in the morning right now and i was compelled by the holy spirit to come look for the lyrics to this song and it led me to this page and sure enough there is a conversation going on and, this song is amazing but for me it means not so much what has been said but it is calling us to stop living in fear of persecution and go out and preach the Word of the Lord to everyone, for by accepting Jesus as our savior and accepting the Holy Spirit and giving our lives to God we are temples of the Holy spirit and WE ARE THE CHURCH and we need to go out and just speak the truth, and Jesus is the way, the truth, the light, noone comes to the father accept through him, and on the issue of homosexuality as it has been said Sin is Sin...period there is no less bad sin then another, God cannot be around any sin, and we have all sinned but by accepting Christ into our lives we are dead to sin and alive to Christ and my cousin is gay but I and my family love him just the same just like God loves us even though we are dirty rotten sinners that don't deserve the smallest bit of his mercy, and because God loves us even though we sin he sent us Jesus of Nazareth, the Christ for our sins so that when we "die" we will be able to spend eternity in the presence of God, and as Jesus said to the pharicees who wanted to stone him in the book of John who of you here is perfect? then let him cast the first stone. nobody is perfect so we cannot judge, Mathew 7 is a great verse to read about this because we are not suited to judge each other because we are all sinners and we all have our own sin to deal with, for how can you say to your brother let me remove that speck of sawdust from your eye, when we have a plank in our own eyes?

think about it... God Bless and may Christ be with you all.

Inspirational! | Reviewer: JeLLo | 5/29/07

I love this song b/c being a teenage christian is so tough in the world today. We struggle with living the way that God wants us to and restraining from giving into peer pressure. But although those are struggles they are no excuse for not reaching out to people with the gospel. I mean the bible even says that we christians will be persecuted, but that doesnt mean we quit. I mean God can change anybody! Look at Paul who was Saul. He was one of the biggest christian persecuters of that time, but Jesus appeared to him on the road and blinded him for three days and he accepted Jesus and became a very strong christian. I have a Hindo friend who I have been witnessing to for about a year and I know that she is not satisfied with her religion and is searching for the truth b/c she asks me about my faith alot and I pray for her every nite!
As for your conversation on homosexuality I agree with many people here. My dad is a pastor and he had a slogan on our church sign not too long ago that said," God loves evryone just the way they are, but he doesnt want to leave us that way." Im only 14 but I know that homosexuality is wrong. But isnt stealing wrong? Isnt disobeying your parents, lying, having sex outside of marrige and so many others wrong? But christians accept those sins in each other and in the world today. Just simply love the person. You dont have to love their sin, but you gan love them and help tham turn from that sin b/c with God all things are possible!

wow | Reviewer: maddie | 5/3/07

i dont see how people don't understand that "preaching" to people often does more harm than good. to MELISSA, you completely handled thta the wrong way. no, i do not agree with homosexuality in the least bit, but do as another Casting Crown's song says: "LOVE THEM LIKE JESUS." love them, pray for them, and let them know IN LOVE how you feel about their situation, but do not degrade them. it's just not necessary.

RUDE CHRISTIAN??? | Reviewer: Becca | 5/3/07

Melissa-- Did you completely miss the meaning of the part of song where they sing "Jesus paid MUCH too high a price for us to pick and choose who should come"--in other words, Jesus loves everybody and it's not up to you to tell Jessie that he can't be a Christian just because he's gay. I pray that God delivers you from being so dadgum judgemental of others (which by the way, the bible says not to do that either...)

My review?-- This is an awesome song and I love it's message. It's so true, and as proven in a previous post, so often we're way to busy telling other people that they don't add up to realize that we should shutup and love each other.
