Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. Praising you in this storm reflects this. Praising God in storms is the most humbling experience one can experience. It is not easy to get to that place but when you do it is a true blessing. Book of Job | Reviewer: Rob | 5/2/07 This theme is mainly relevant to the book of Job in the Old Testament. Job specifically uses words dealing with God giving and taking away. God gives blessings and he takes away blessings. The point of the song is not that God takes away bad things, but that He takes away good things and allows bad things to happen to us. That is why we praise Him IN SPITE of the storm. We know that the storm is evil and hurtful and dangerous, but we praise Him anyway, because everything He does (or doesn't do but allows to happen) has a purpose and is good. Or is it just another way god helps me everyday? Last week my mom had a miscarriage and almost bled to death. I was so scared but right in the middle of this Praise you in this storm came on the radio and as I started to sing I was filled with comfort and strength from Gods good grace. She loved this song, as it really spoke to her, during her battle with cancer. She praised God all through it and even when told there was nothing else the doctors could do.
