The Reviews about While You Were Sleeping (page 1/ 2)
------ performed by Casting Crowns

Are they against preserving the natural world? | Reviewer: Anonymous | 5/16/09

There is much to like about this song but what's up with this incredibly right wing line? While I support them in their position about abortion I also fully believe in our need to protect God's creation. Do they really think saving the natural world is CONTRARY to God's will??

Refreshing | Reviewer: Larissa | 1/5/09

I was so glad to hear this song among the other "Christmas" music playing on the radio that talked more about Santa and lights than on the wonderful birth of Jesus Christ. It's becoming rare to hear such bold and honest lyrics these days, and the part of about "saving the trees and killing the children" really put things in perspective. It was also nice to hear a song that mentions Jesus' return for His people...very awesome, inspiring, and thought-provoking song.

Christians It's Time To Wake Up!!! | Reviewer: Althea | 12/17/08

Finally a gospel group that gets it and will not pander to being politically correct! We are the body of Christ and we need to stand against the wiles of the adversary that is destroying this precious nation and country. It is full time for Christians to rise up and be bold about our Faith and stop mixing with all types of doctrine! When Christ comes back he will be asking each of us - "What did you do for my Kingdom" - my question is , What will our answer be?????

Just waking up...... | Reviewer: Lazy bones | 11/7/08

...and the election is over. I'm shocked back to the basics of my faith, and hearing this song again after so long, it truly forshadows the direction, and fate, of America. It won't be long now. Hold fast to your faith in Christ.

Very insightful song | Reviewer: Sandman | 7/9/08

The song speaks more truth than some would want to admit. Will America (and other countries) be known as caring more about global environmentalism than the slaughter of the unborn? My Bible also says that this earth and these heavens will be burned up anyway, so I guess the big question is: how will God view our priorities? Will He care about our carbon footprint on what will then be a pile of ash, or how many that have been rescued from an eternity of torment? Christ's focus was on turning the heart to God and changing the person from the inside out. Christians, let's get our priorities right.

The truth | Reviewer: Christy | 6/29/08

In a time when we as Christians are being told to be silenced and not to offend this song says it all where are our priorities. This world will not last forever but these moments in history are what shaped our Faith... are we going to sleep and let a lost America and world go to hell because we are afraid we might offend?

~_~ | Reviewer: cast your crowns | 12/29/07

while you were sleeping is actually my official favorite song by a ccm band. is it just me or is it kinda christmasy? any way, i loved the song and the lyrics themselves are inspiring.

Thought provoking | Reviewer: Karoline | 11/4/07

This song is so so powerful it gave me goosebumps when i heard it. Casting crowns are incredibly frank with their line save the trees and kill the children and completly correct our priorities are all wrong; in todays busy world will we have room for jesus when he returns?

What about eternal life? | Reviewer: Ben | 10/7/07

I believe that the 'saving' that this song mentions is the one of eternal life; not the 'saving' of the physical. Yes, we should be good stewards of nature but we should never value physical things over the eternal life that Jesus Christ gives us. If saving the trees means loosing even one soul, I would rather save that one soul than save all of the trees in the world.

wake up america | Reviewer: Anonymous | 6/18/07

this song starts out at a nice commentary on Christ's birth, but quickly slips into the territory of political propaganda with aline like, "save the trees and kill the babies." This is the ignorance of American Christendom that is repulisively contrary to the word of God. Yes, babies need to be saved. But what happens after they are saved and there is no world for them to live in. Come on America. WAKE UP! Or will you let this be "just another silent night?"
