Review about Calling the Moon

i often call the moon - and dar suggests that the moon may care

Calling the Moon has the mystery of many of Dar's songs... making me angry, and sad even when I don't really know exactly why. Like the song describes, I too have turned off the engine... "and promised the fields I’d return from now on" many times in my life... and it seems like no matter how many times I "surrendered the day" I find myself angry that the moon rises with no thought of me, coming back even "when the empire falls" and shining "on the crumbing walls"...

But Dar suggests that the moon can see us: "I can see her light; this one's going out to the moon tonight"

And Dar suggests to me that it is "worth" calling the moon - to call on the one that tugs at the seas and illumines the earth!

Dar has given me so much since the day I heard her in concert at UC Berkeley in 1995... Sometimes I think she and I live parallel lives... but then I realize we all live parallel lives... and we are all blessed to have artists to remind us of this.... Thank you Dar all those who make her music possible!
