Sarah explains the masquarade. | Reviewer: Sarah (it really is!) | 2/7/09
I, Sarah, stepped through the crowd with my white ball gown and bushed up hair. It looked like everyone except me was wearing masks, and I felt more uncomfortable as I searched the crowd for someone to dance with. The music in the background sang to me.
"...Deep in your eyes,
a kind of pale jewel..."
Someone behind me laughed. I turned, advanced, and a man removed his mask. I was disconcerted. This seemed like a dream. His face was like a miracle, and every strand of his long, golden hair seemed to glow from within. I knew it was rude but I couldn't help it. I kept staring, with my mouth hanging loosely. Another man holding a brunette in his arms, twirled in front of me, and when they passed, Bowie was gone. I turned my head vigorously in all directions, searching for him until my neck hurt, gave up and started shoving through the crowd again. I didn't notice, but a few people away from me, he was dancing with a red-head. He didn't bother looking at his partner, but at me. Some people showed me a box, and opened it. Inside was a great, dirty snake. I jumped back... and everyone laughed. The man holding the box pulled out the snake and showed me it was just a walking stick shoved through a hole in the bottom of the chest. I left them to their tittering. I passed by someone and they pulled away just as I turned the other way. Bowie grinned at me in admiration, and followed me. I pushed through the many people with masks, and noticed a large, fluffy fan a blonde woman was holding. She pulled it away, and Bowie was behind it, with a couple of woman staring in admiration. I started staring again. He advanced on me and grabbed my waist; I put my hand on his shoulder and we danced. Sooner or later he'd mouth the words of the song to please me. I did have to admit, I wasn't exactly pleased. I was uncomfortable and scared. Though I was dancing with the one I wanted to dance with, it freaked me a little. Everyone else twirling around, me realizing I had been looking for something... but what was it? I pushed Bowie away and dashed through the crowd. He didn't try to stop me, he just sort of stood there with a sad look. Everyone else didn't mind the shoving. They were too busy twirling to the music. I reached I glass wall. Don't blame me, I didn't exactly know what I was doing, but I picked up a pearly-white chair and plunged it into the glass. I was falling...falling...falling... with no hope of ever going back... still falling...
Well, there you have it, ladies and gentlemen, the real-deal. It may not have happened to me, even though my name really is Sarah, and I really like David Bowie and I would love it if that long story really had happened to me.

For starters, yeahhhh, okayyyy. lmao
You're probably some fat pig that just wants attention. Stop lying over the internet. It's so stupid and desperate. Get a life.
No one indirectly calls David Bowie a pedophile and gets away with it. You're so stupid. He's like, old... he wouldn't be going to some retarded school dance to flirt with a pig. He's married.
I LOVE BOWIE!
I love this song.
The words are so beautiful, so enchanting.
This scene was so romantic, the epitome of a teenage girl's dream. ;D
*ahem* (though some teenage girls take it a little too far.)
I've loved this movie since I was about 5. I'm 19 now so do the math. There's nothing sexier than a singing, dancing goblin king in tight leather pants. ;]

I LOVE this movie, and the song, of course....always have been a Bowie fan, even before anyone else thought it was "cool" to be one...(Now you know how old I am-lol!) This song and others are available for download on itunes.com....I got mine there, and am really enjoying it!

Girl, you are so full of crap. xD No one's going to believe that story. How about you stop mixing your dreams with reality and learn to get a life. Don't be a fake.
Anyways, this is most definitely my favorite song in Labyrinth. It's waaaay too beautiful for words to describe. I love this song to bits and pieces, and I would've loved to be Sarah at that point in the movie.
Liar! | Reviewer: Jenna | 3/27/08
to that person who wrote about david coming to her school dressed as jareth....okay first off you said that you had no idea he was coming to your school yet you just happen to be wearing a sarah dress and he so happens to be dressed as the goblin king? umm...i think not! and i dont care how nice any celebrity is no celebrity would ever ever ever give out any personal info like a personal telephone number and email and stuff....its a safety thing! also you make it sound like david was flirting with you which noone would ever believe because he's been married to iman for ages. either you made this up or are exaggerating majorly. i just wont stand to have anyone lie about david bowie...especially since im his number 1 fan...does noone else agree with this story?
Falling in love... | Reviewer: Jareth_x | 11/16/07
School managed to set up some masquarade ball thingy and The Eagles fled over to our school to do the music! They also told us about David Bowie and I was the only pupil (there were 500 pupils) who knew where the band was talking about! They then played 'As The World Falls Down' and I went crazy because Labyrinth was my favourite movie at that time... (The ball was at 2000)
Then...
When everybody was dancing,
someone came in.
The teachers who also were at the ball grinned at us.
We were staring at the glittery make-up freak who came in the ballroom.
It was David Bowie.
My mind swept away when I saw him as Jareth!!!
The Eagles' singer said to us that somebody needed to dance with 'Jareth the Goblin King', and almost every girl wanted. Me, ofcourse, wanted to dance with David too...
And the teachers (the women) too!
I went to talk with David, I was nearly the only one who really knew who he was: The 60/70/8ies glam-/rock singer...
I know nearly everything about David.
Well, after some talking and David's introduction to us, (my heart went beating faster and faster with each line he spoke out) he wanted to dance 'As The World Falls Down' with someone.
...The song was still playing, (it was a 30:00 minute edit from the real song! Wow!)
and David said: "Who wanna dance with me? The crazy glittery Jareth wants to dance with one of you. Poke out your hand and I'll give a sign who I'll choose!"
My hand went up into the air and so did many other hands of many other girls.
David stood there in his Jareth costume, 52 years old and still looking like a hot 30-year old Jareth the Goblin King.....
The moment was there that David decided who to dance... The Eagles' band members played back As The World Falls Down to the beginning, and David said:
"Well ladies. And gentleman, hah!
I think I choose that little princess with the Sarah gown, over there...,"
His hand pointed to me!!!
My heart stopped beating at that moment, oh God!
I can remember eeeverryy little detail of that evening, really.
It was so romantic and lovely and David is such an handsome guy and every girl and teacher was jelous at me! I dressed myself up in Sarah's ballgown, made by myself..
I knew nobody would know that it actually was "Sarah's" ballgown. Nobody knew either Sarah Williams or Labyrinth or David Bowie... though I was in love with the movie.
Oh. Back to the dancing...
Well Jareth/David walked over to me and smiled.
"You're the one, dear. Tell me what's your name? Is it, probably, Sarah Williams?"
I didn't know what to say or do.
I was shocked of David wanting to dance with me.
My idol. The one and only man I had loved for nearly my whole short 15-year old life.
"I'm-I'm Lisa...," I said in that microphone he held in front of me.
"No Sarah? Oh well you look like Sarah though. I like you, Lisa!" David said then.
He looked deep into my eyes and I thought I would fall down to the ground melted with love. He only smiled and took my hands and I could't think anymore when he touched me.
We danced.
A delicious sparkling romantic 15 minutes long...
At the end he leaned in to me and kissed my cheek and I thought I would become insane at his touch. I was in love like I never had loved some guy before. (Though I only had loved David Bowie)...
I mummured something at David, I couldn't talk anymore! (Hah :P Is it any wonder?), though David could hear what I tried to tell him.
"I love you David Bowie, you're the best and most-good looking artist ever... I'm 15 years old and I'm already a fan of yours for nearly 3 years. Please... can we ever meet again?"
David only smiled at me and we still were dancing though As The World Falls Down had already finished.
"Sure... dear... 'Gimme your hands, because you're wonderful! Gimme your hands,'...Oh well just give me your e-mail and we'll get in touch soon, love...,"
that was David's answer.
We whispered those words...
And the words that came out of David's mouth were even more seductive and sexy than ever beore...
After we danced, I wrote up my e-mail and city/town adress and stuff and gave it to David.
We have contact till this day.
And we'll stay in touch forever.
----
THAT was my story of meeting the sexy and seductive Jareth and JUST A SMALL LITTLE boring (until David came in) masquarade.
The teachers who set up the masquarade never told us about The Eagles' being the "DJ" at that night.
They never told us about the lovely David Bowie.
Until that moment...
---When the whole night was over (12:00 at night) we aaaall together went back to our school for an hour.
Yeah, it was night. But we chatted about the ball and about how it was and if we wanted it to return next year again.
I ofcourse told the teachers that I wanted David Bowie to return to the masquarde again next year.
They smiled at me and I told them about that I was obsessed with David for almost my whole life. They didn't expect that, they were surprised and they told me (the woman' teachers) they would've done everything to be me at the dancing-part with David/Jareth.
They ofcourse knew the movie Labyrinth.
And ofcourse Jareth the Goblin King.
----
Sorry for the looooong story but I wanted to let you know this.
I love David Bowie AND Jareth and Labyinth and As The World Falls Down!!!
Now you know why!
I'm the most lucky girl in the world...
Because I MET David Bowie AS Jareth!!!
Woooohhh!!!
xx
Lisa.
PS: Don't blame me for dancing with David, don't tell me it's not fair that I danced with him and you didn't!
"It's not fair!" -Yeah I know it's not fair, but just don't blame me, I already heard too much people tell me that it isn't fair!
I wonder what their basis for comparison is........
I LOVE YOU JARETH!!!

Best Song Ever Written- In My Opinion | Reviewer: Shannon | 9/17/07
I totally love this song from the movie Labyrinth. I think that every woman or girl falls in love with Jareth, even if just for a little while during the movie, especially during the ballroom scene. I have owned this movie since it first came out on Video in the 1980's, and have managed to wear out numerous copies of the VHS tapes. Thank Goodness for DVD's! Now, if I can just manage to find a copy of the soundtrack, I'll be supremely happy!
