Review about Dark ------Performed by Gary Numan | 08/24/2007 11:00:00 AM His Dark Matrerials? Quite when Gary became the God-hating new era industrialist he is now is unclear, although his personal traumas has been well documented on "Exile" and "Pure". This then, is possibly a highpoint of his catharsis, summed up in his darkest works. They sum up the feelings of cynicism and the disenchantment for religion of generation X, Y and Z. Surely, it is no small feat that his works in this period made perfect sense lyrically and provided a change of focus in his music toward darker realms. This track was used in the movie "Dark City", which was a surreal and fantastic voyage into the realms of fantasy, yet at its core, as with this material, there are deep seated questions that demand answers. Where are those answers? Not where humanity has looked so far, obviously, and this songs achievements are a fine thing to sum up inside of four and a half minutes!
