Thing is, this song sounds like a musical accident, however, the end result is one of his most accomplished pieces of the time. This song, with its haunting synth melody and minimalistic rhythm is the perfect vehicle for the lyric, and the Saxaphone break in the last minute of the song is inspired. Not a happy song by any means, but Gary knows where his strengths lie and, for the time this song was made, reinforces it. Nothing short of a masterpiece.
