The Reviews about Hide And Seek (page 4/ 85)
------ performed by Imogen Heap

OK, whoever thought it was about the Indians. SCREW YOU AND ALL YOUR OVERANALYZING FRIENDS! I'm beginning to get really tired of these people who are whining and complaining about Indian rights this and Indians should get that. Bullcrap! Some 25,000 Americans somehow outsmarted you 100,000 Inidans like 150-200 years ago, and it's not our liability anymore. So do the normal people of the world a favor and SHUT THE HELL UP!

so disappointed! | Reviewer: e | 10/14/09

this song is one of my favourite songs EVER. hands down. i'm so upset that there is a Jason DeRulo cover of it in popular media now. an amazing song few people had heard of (and fewer still truly appreciated) is now being remixed and ruined, and completely whored out on radio stations that play the same talentless artist's songs in the exact same order every day.
I'M SO DISAPPOINTED!!!

Different Interpretation | Reviewer: Max | 10/14/09

I feel like this is about the decimation of the Indians, both culturally and physically, during America's westward expansion. My best proof is the chorus: we're playing a murderous game of "hide and seek" with Indians, and industrializing their land with "trains and sewing machines". And yes, "they were here first", thousands of years before Christopher Columbus. The "oily marks" are the bloodshed of the Indians; we completely disrupted their way of life, ending their "pleasure moments" they had before the American invasion. Throughout all these tumultuous times, "you don't care a bit" reflects the dehumanizing and ignorant nature of Americans who believed it was their right to take the land from these savages. Just a different take on a terrific song.

Great song; endless interpretations | Reviewer: Christmas | 10/12/09

I love this song. It's beautifully composed and is a harmonious peace of poetry. I think the song can be interpreted an infinite amount of different ways and whatever meaning you decipher is correct. It's what you think and why you love this song that counts. When I listen to this song, my interpretation is mainly the Holocaust and possibly divorce. I thank Imogene Heap for her beautiful song and its many meanings.

Song | Reviewer: Kirby | 10/11/09

This about a woman who's husband has cheated or maybe their baby has died (miscarriage) and he is trying to "fix" everything by buying moving them into a house. It seems she's thinking it's a little too late for this, that their relationship is unrepairable and over. Also she's really offended and hurt that he doesn't seem to know her well enough to know that things can't be fixed just by taking over someone else's "house" or "lIfe." she seems to be haunted by the people, family that used to live there. Like maybe they had an idealized life and she wishes that could have been her. But she's so sad realizing it isn't and might never be
that way...just my random thoughts. Really great song

OMG | Reviewer: Peter | 10/10/09

Absolute garbage. Makes little to no sense and sounds she sounds like shes dying. If you want to hear something good check out the hip-hop version of this song by Jason DeRulo; its way way better :)

LOST LOVE | Reviewer: Sonya Davis | 10/7/09

OMG people you read in to stuff to deep .. JEZZ.. OK this song is not as deep as you want to make it out to be .. She is talking about loseing a lover ..It is an amazing song and she has just used lots of metafores...

actually | Reviewer: Anonymous | 10/7/09

I just read on wikipaedia that the song includes sounds of her and her boyfriend eating dinner, (the sound like rain in the background is a frying pan) makes me suspect that it is indeed about a break up....

it means whatever you want it to mean | Reviewer: Anonymous | 10/3/09

i think that songs mean something different to everyone. everyones ideas are quite correct bec. thats what they take from it. immediately i thought break up song. that they had a life together..crop circles in the carpet...you know when you move, and you look at the carpet where your things used to be, the furniture makes markings, usually with dust. if you remove a picture from the wall , it leaves lines, and mess where the pictures used to be. and then the chorus at first, sounds like he chose to leave, and basically decided thats what they needed, he decided for her. but, the rest of the song doesnt quite fit with it. but i recently went through this, which is why it meant that to me. but i think the other analyzations are spot on. either way. that is exactly why poetry is wonderful. its not black and white, its that grey area where anything is possible.where it means whatever it wants to mean to the ears listening or the eyes reading. we are all fighting such different battles, looking to relate to anything that confirms how we feel. its all okay. thats what makes each one of us so beautiful. if we found out what she really meant, then the song might not be quite as personal. great song, great sound, great lyrics, great artist. and it seems, to me we all can appreciate that.

im confused | Reviewer: danielle | 9/30/09

Comming from a poets point of view, I say you can NEVER EVER EVeR find out what this master peice means unless you see or read an interview from the writer HERSELF.. but I think whoever thought of the whole holocost thing is wat this peice of work is about needs 2 know EVEEEEEEERRRTHING about the holocost bcuz this poem is SOOOO abstract and SOOOOO genius, that it cud mean ANYTHING or EVERYTHING. But I DO know that this song is not a song, I BELIEVE that is was a poem then LATER ON got an melody attatchd 2 it... and I think that sum1 HAS 2 do a interview with Imogen Heap so she can HOPEFULLY SOLVE THIS MYSTERY! :-D
