"IT" that she said was the infamous "i love you." she said those words to him, and it scared him off - he didn't react the way that was ideal and the relationship (or supposed relationship) will never be the same. smash | Reviewer: tally1302 | 5/25/08 So often in an argument you say something you know will be really really hurtful just to spite the person you're arguing with... and then instantly regret it. This song captures the underlying sadness when the words have the cutting affect they were supposed to... and just make the other person kind of snap inside and you know that you can't go back and unsay them and nothing will ever be the same again :(. The woman wants to talk about this and make him feel like everything is going to be alright again. I think at the end the guy commits suicide..i mean, he was driving a car and it said "smash" so im assuming you put 2 and 2 together and it makes sense. 'I know what your thinking, but your not thinking straight' could mean like is saying that your too drunk, and when she says the stuff about the car she means he could have an accident. 'Not another one' could be talking about alcohol and when she says that she losing him, you can interpret like she's losing him because he's not the same person as her was. it could be about drugs too. It pretty much can fit any situation in a relationship. Say... If you were raped and ended up pregnant, told your Significant other, then the following would fit the reactions thereafter. So would her telling him that someone he loved was killed (possibly in a car accident?). Or her confronting him about his cheating on her. Or her telling him she was pregnant/in love with him period, and him not reacting well to the news (imagine someone with commitment issues heading out the door when he finds out you're pregnant and doesn't want to have anything to do with you. Another in a long line of bad relationships?). Or maybe he IS a user or abuser (alcohol, drugs, or people, it matters not) and she says something about it to him.
