------ performed by Jamie Cullum
Amazing | Reviewer: Anonymous | 5/28/2008
I think this song really can hit close to home, especially if you have someone you have lost, or perhaps that girl or boy you've wanted since you've known them but never had them...thats the story for me anyways :x...
Covers | Reviewer: Vas | 1/19/2008
Let's just say that this song hits very close to home for me. I just wanted to take a close look at all of the lyrics, and I noticed people arguing about which version is better. I personally love Jeff Buckley's original, but if Cullum got this song to new ears, more power to him. After all, my favorite Jeff Buckley song "Hallelujah" is a song that HE covered. That song got new life when Bon Jovi covered it again on Unplugged.
I think the bottom line is that great songs get covered because they are great songs. Sometimes the covers make you want to throw up (Sheryl Crow's version of Sweet Child O' Mine), and sometimes covers completely redefine a song (Jimi Hendrix's version of All Along the Watchtower). More power to them.

I was listening the past few week both to Jeff Buckley and Jamie Cullum. I like both artists. Only today I noticed that this song is on both of them. Artists, styles and intensity are different but both versions are very good.
Wonderful | Reviewer: Jazz | 7/27/2007
Hi there!
I might say that I don't know who Jeff Buckley is.. I'm a young jazz music fan. I know that this is an old song but I never know who sang this. Until I heard Jamie's album.
I'm deeply touched by this song and the way Jamie sang it. It's been nearly 2 years since the first time I heard this song, but this song still make me touched everytime I heard it.
I never hear Jeff Buckley's version, but I know I should. I think each version is very good because the song itself is a good one. But I just wanna thanks Jamie, because if he didin't sing this song in his album, I wold never know this wonderful song and the wonderful composer Jeff Buckley..
Why Compare??? | Reviewer: Gretchen S. | 3/16/2007
I do not know who Jeff Buckley is. If I did ~ it would have no bearing on my liking of this song. I do not understand why people can't leave "what is" AS "what is". Who cares if you like Buckley's version better? Does that justify calling Cullum a dipshit? That's childish ~ and it suggests that you have no respect for the art of music in general ~ regardless of the form it takes. Your personal taste is exactly that ~ YOUR personal taste. Leave it at that. There IS no need to compare Buckley to Cullum ~ that's the beauty of the art of music. To each his own ~ what CAN be said does not suggest what always SHOULD be said. Alright ~ so that BEING SAID ~ I love Jamie Cullum, and every rendition that he does. Notice I can state that minus having to bash another artist!!! OH MY, WHAT A SHOCK!!!
Jeff cannot be compared | Reviewer: Hugo Arantes Carlos | 9/13/2006
Jeff Buckley was unique in every way and I believe this song will never be sung like he did, ever. Jeff didn´t have much time to become famous worldwide (though I am a huge fan from Brazil, I believe I am an exception), but his work, though brief, shows the greatness of his being.
Oh.My.God. | Reviewer: Axle Brain Slot | 8/18/2006
I just heard this cover. My ears bled. The original by Jeff Buckley is one of the best songs ever made. Along comes this pop-culture dipshit Cullum, rapes and robs the song of all the beauty it posesses, leaves out the most powerful part (at least that way, he couldn't ruin that part aswell), and to top it off, goes out of tune several times at the end of his sentences.
What an selfabsorbed asshole.
Oh dear... | Reviewer: Bob With Taste | 10/17/2005
I've just had the great displeasure of listening to this while waiting to hear if my car has been written off. My potential misery was compounded by young mister Cullum ruining one of my favourite songs. He's nowhere near Buckley talent-wise, but if he'd drown in a river....
Great | Reviewer: Luciacaro | 4/16/2005
Jamie Cullum is a great artist. He's a good and pasionate singer, sensitive, fresh... and most of all, what we've seen is only the begining, he will be much better in few years... This song is one of my favourites, he prints many colors, emotions, pasions in a great performance.
Great song, but... | Reviewer: Michael Andersen | 3/7/2005
Indeed shame on you! :D
The song is originally written by Jeff Buckley, and although Jamie Collum is a breath of fresh air in a periode of time, where the only new music is pop-music and post-grunge, Jeff Buckleys performance is better!
Jamie, carry on the good work!
