The Reviews about John Lydon (page 1/1)
I love everything by Lydon. | Reviewer: Nihilismus | 5/21/09
The Sex Pistols are great.
And although people shouldnt underestimate Jones and the others' contributions, Johnny's sneer makes the songs for a big part.
The brief post-Rotten Pistols which was basically McLaren milking it, doesnt pack half the punch of Rotten's Pistols.
Public Image Limited is even better than the Pistols.
Innovative, experimental and has the same anarchic message and sneer.
Most people will say that after the first three albums PiL isnt much any more.
Which I severly disagree with. Agreed, the post-Wobble-and-Levine stuff arent as good as early PiL but it's simply because it's PiL we expect more than what for example Album had to offer us.
But should a lesser band than PiL released something like the so called "unworthy" PiL albums they would recieve great praise.
The song God on That What Is Not for example is a really great song.
The Pistols reunion stuff seems ironic thanks to early Lydon statements when starting PiL he'd first never perform live (he did, even releasing a live album with PiL) and second never do Pistols songs (after Levine he did).
Never the less, I cant wait for chance to see them live myself.
Psycho's Path is an amazing genre defying album.
The songs Dog and Sun being the top of the bunch.
Leftfield is great on itself and with Lydon, it's pure greatness...
Go Johnny, I admire your guts... | Reviewer: Katy | 2/28/09
It's pretty bad when you can not express your music without a bunch of cowards ganging up on you and being bullies.
Over in America if you want to voice your opinion about the past presidents or present you can without being beat up. England is like a nazi country. The queen does suck, and everything about her.
John Lydon/Johnny Rotten is married. | Reviewer: Anonymous | 10/27/08
Johnny Rotten/John Lydon is married to a girl named Nora Forster, and he is the stepfather to her daughter, Ari Up, who was the lead singer of the influential postpunk, dub reggae band, The Slits. He is one of my idols too. It's so awesome how he is, like, a grandfather, and he's still all punk rock and stuff. He is so freaking cool. I love him so much.

Brill Peep | Reviewer: Nikki | 8/14/04
John Lydon has achieved a lot in the music industry, from the raging 70's punk scene with the Sex Pistols, to a more calm style of music with PiL (Public Image Limited), the to produce a solo album of brilliant quality. He also has produced a excellent autobiography called Rotten: No Irish, No Black, No Dogs.
An all round brill peep!
