The Reviews about Killswitch Engage (page 3/ 3)

awesome | Reviewer: derek | 8/26/07

i first heard of killswitch through my best friend. i like all kinds of metal, like slipknot, lamb of god, all that remains and avenged sevenfold, to name a few. my friend showed me the song reject yourself and thought it was cool. i downloaded all there stuff and am a big fan to this day. i dont care what people say about who is a better singer, jesse or howard. i personally prefer howard, but they are both extremely good. if you say anything about either of them or me liking them both cuz i no some people have no lives and live to attack other peoples opinions then you are a big ass. this is for reviewing the band, not other people opinions. im out.

warped tour `07 | Reviewer: Sean | 8/4/07

I saw them at warped tour down in milwaukee and howard is definitely the man to pull weight around, I've been a big fan of their's since 03, I enjoy not only their rythmatic riffs and insane drum beats but I love the lyrics also along with the vibe it gives me

good positive music | Reviewer: Anonymous | 7/7/07

these guys are an example of few artists that have positive music people like. but thats not the only reason people love them. the riffs, the heaviness, and the overpowering vocals are also reasons to listen. I only heard of them this year and I have to say they ROCK!!! I hope there are more bands like them in the future.

Killswitch Engage...What metal needs! | Reviewer: Richard | 5/15/07

Tne undulation of each tune; the high's and lows, the yin and yang of it all, really perforates the mind and seems to be assimilated by the soul in a manner akin to what you would experience from early Pantera albums- only there's something unique, almost spiritual, that seems to underpin not only each wonderful song, but the band members themselves. Metal needs more bands like Killswitch Engage.

Mindblowing, epic, emotional, awesome. | Reviewer: Ed | 4/8/07

I only recently got into killswitch engage. I heard "The Arms of Sorrow" and immediately fell in love with their ability to make you cry with emotion yet rip your face off with blastbeat drumming and heavy riffing. I bought "As Daylight Dies" and "Alive or Just Breathing". I prefer Howard in that he can sing a lot better and stronger than Jesse, although Jesse's growl on "My Last Serenade" should not be missed.
Apparently "End of Heartache" was fantastic so im going to buy that soon, but all in all, they are one of my favourite bands ever. They bring to metal something new, crisp and huge. I do a lot of drawing and artwork, and they're songs are brilliant for it. I love this band more than i've ever loved any other band. The last 3 of their albums were given 5 stars by Kerrang. And rightly so i say.
They're incredible, don't miss them, they are sure to be looked back at in 40 years time as a landmark in modern metal. Incredible.

Best band to ever step on the golden shore of Aussie land | Reviewer: INGRID | 2/21/07

Killswith Engage are the single greatest band to ever step foot on the soil and sand of Australia. If you agree if you don fuck you, they may not be Australian but they did play one fucking great show with Lamb of God, Unearth and I killed the prom queen.
people i dare any1 to ever tell me that Killswitch Engage are bitches, their new album may have its bitch metal moments but you have to admit its heavier then most of the bands in the metal industry today...
And INGRID is going on statement sayin that they heavier then most bands, prove me wrong...
But their not heavier then Lamb of God, sorry guys but they are just awsome beyond comprehension......
In conclusion Killswith Engage RULE!!!!!!!!!!!

Flip the Killswitch, Engage in aural pleasure. | Reviewer: Luke | 5/9/06

This band really are good, despite the fact I'm partial to Metalcore and Death Metal (which are the two most obvious genres that make KsE).
I have recently bought The End Of Heartache and that just backs up my statement.

Killswitch Engage: My Biggest Influence | Reviewer: Michael B. Smith (Tyr) | 2/5/05

To anyone whom reads this you may realize somewhere along the line that Killswitch Engage has become and will always be my greatest influence on my life as a musician, a friend, and a brother. Ever since I first heard of Killswitch Engage I could never let go of how amazing their skills as musicians and people are. Despite the changes in members and bumps along the way they held strong and continued on. They have brought a whole new meaning to "Heavy". Even their extremely heart-felt melodics give you the feeling of metal and the life around it. I look forward to taking Aesir, my brotherhood of musicians, as far as Killwitch Engage did! Of course I doubt we'll ever be as well known, but I garuantee that we'll be just as good as well as felt. Aesir consists of Mike Ott[On Guitar], Joe Airhart[On Guitar], Max Smith[On Drums], and Mike Smith[(No relation by blood)On Bass]. Well, I guess the biggest influences on me out of all of Killswitch Engage would have to be Mike D'Antonio and Adam Dutkiewicz. Mr. Mike D'Antonio for his rare skills as a bassist, and from one bassist to another, Mike you take it to a whole new level bringing bass to life. Also because of Mike D'Antonio I wasn't worried about picking on bass for faster play. Not only does it sound awesome, but it shows that the bass is by far just as skillful as the guitar. Though, Adam Dutkiewicz was a big influence for not only the ability to play an instrument and sing/growl/scream at the same time(putting emotion and talent into it), but for how he almost seemed to help lead Killswitch Engage to where they are now. Adam Dutkiewicz was there from the beginning just like Mike D'Antonio and never gave up! The one thing that I will never forget about Killswitch Engage is that they play for the music, for their fans, and for themselves. Not for the money, the fame, the publicity, but for the beauty and talent of metal. That is the real Killswitch Engage, and they make it look and sound so damn good!
