Omerta = honour, the specific Mafia code thereof, and the opposite in a sense to what Judas did, with the Christian story's influence on both Italians/Mafia and Western culture in general, the song's theme hits home to the audience. It's a theme, a story. Simple enough.

One of the best bands to see live. Puts his all into every live performance I've seen anyways.. i.e. crawling around on his knees just feeling the music and letting it out. Truly fucking amazing experience, and in todays world, it's not the cd's you sell that proves success, it's your live performances, and they take that to a great level.
actually it is about the cd's you sell because if you sell lots of cd's it shows you are very famous because people aren't downloading the music which happens in most cases

Omerta is the Italian Mafia's code of honor. Stating that If you go to the law in search fo help with a problem,(or to rat someone out) you will be killed. If you injure gravely and do not kill, you will be killed.
And yeah, This song fuckin' rules! I would listen to it anytime. And I agree with Martin, I'd rather scream "I will kill you" Than "You are forgiven". :)
Both lyrics are correct | Reviewer: Martin | 2/26/08
Both "If I die, you are forgiven, If I live, i will kill you." and "If I live, i will kill you, If I die, you are forgiven"
They use the first one during live performances the Killadelphia DVD being based on live performances has those lyrics obviously. But on the Ashes of the Wake album they use the second one. The reason for this is the audience would much rather yell out "I will kill you" and not "You are forgiven" during a live performance. Makes sense if you think about it xD

the first quote is wrong it is " If i die, you are forgiven. If i live, I WILL KILL YOU!!" it was put on in the wrong order, listen to killadelphia album track 9. Other than that this song fuckin rocks just like lamb of god.

Amazing piece that LoG have done flawlessly. Bringing the 'Code of Silence' into the song was absolutely amazing. The Biblical references are amazing! Randy is an awesome man and I hope they continue to make songs as good as this one, with all the meaning of this.

Ok someone said this song has "excellent technicality". HAHAHAHAHA! This is a sick song but it isn't technical at all. Maybe there's a few artificial harmonics and triplets. But they're all done slow so you can't miss them. There's not even a solo. I'd even go as far as to say AC/DC's more technical. But anyway it's a great song and I love it. I think it's just made to sound brutal ...like the omerta. It's just not technical.

Lamb of God is God | Reviewer: Avery | 12/14/07
Lamb of God is the best band out there along with System of a Down. This is my favorite song by Lamb of God, although I wish that they would pig squeal more like Waking the Cadaver. Pig squealing fans listen to Entombment of a Machine by Job for a Cowboy. Feel free to email me with comments.
