I'm not even going to start on how lame internet "fights" are. Soo, in the changing of the subject, this song is amazing. The lyrics are just grand. The "Fear. Pain. Hatred. Power." gives me chills :D

Keep in mind when you say that "If you class Slipknot as metal you have to class Linkin Park as metal", bands don't stick to playing just one genre. Both play nu-metal, but Linkin Park play nu-metal with alternative rock influences or just plain alternative rock, whereas Slipknot have heavier Alternative Metal influences and no strong influences from any non-metal genre. Plus Slipknot and Linkin Park sound absolutely nothing alike whatsoever; many of the base definitions of metal (distortion, heaviness, aggression, masculinity) apply to Slipknot but definately not to Linkin Park.

im tired of stupid people coming on websites like this, looking up songs they DONT like and bashing them just to start fights with stubborn metal heads... lmao, REALLY? theres no fucking science behind what kinda music people like, so shut the fuck up and start actually paying attention in your college courses instead of being the internet music nazi, mmk?

"You kids go listen to something real, Metallica, Megadeth or Iron Maiden are all good starts"
Metallica had their time, they're overrated now.
I love Megadeth and Iron Maiden. I mean, Megadeath is one of LoG biggest influences. And Iron Maiden is...Iron Maiden. But sometimes I need something heavier and angrier than Iron Maiden can deliver, so I go to Megadeth, Slipknot and Lamb of God.
And yeah, Ruiner is right, without Megadeth there is no Lamb of God.
And yeah, you can't really compare Slipknot with Lamb of God. You can't just say they're metal otherwise you get shit like Linkin Park thrown into that mix. Can you really compare Linkin Park with LoG? No. I am a fan of both Slipknot and LoG. Fuck, I've gotta say, Joey Jordison is a great drummer. I've even met him before, he's pretty cool. But Chris Adler (LoG's drummer) is completely self taught. That's not easy to pull off, especially because he said in Modern Drummer that rehearsals with the band lasted 40 minutes before everyone was drunk. He showed up hours early to practice and learn. That's something you've gotta appreciate.

Lamb Of God are my all time favorate band garenteed insane dirty rifs. One the only metal bands i know to have not sold out even in an age that Deicide release a watered down album o well, Ruin was my first lamb of god song i got into then laid to rest. Their earlyer stuff is deffinatly more Brutal

ruin is a great song, the song thats had the most impact on me, ive been living to the words "Fear,Pain,Hatred,Power" since i was 13. lamb of god are masters of their craft, and to all of these people saying megadeth sucks. very amusing, despite that megadeth have put out some great metal records in the early years. by the way, 3 of the members of lamb of god have cited in many publications that megadeth is one of their favriot bands, biggest influences, and the reason to start a band in the first place, so without as you put it "Megashit", lamb of god would probaly never be

Ruin was the first Lamb of God song I've heard (as it's the first one to come up when you type "Lamb of God" into Youtube), and with the possible exception of "Descending" remains my favourite. It's just amazing; the opening riff is bone shattering, the lyrics are well-written at a phenominal level and it's one of the greatest headbanging pieces in existance. This must be what it feels like to be whacked full on with Thor's hammer.
(BTW Slipknot vs Lamb of God? I prefer Corey's voice and Joey's drums, although I know that that's very much a matter of personal opinion, but I vastly prefer Lamb of God's guitars, plus their drums are still insanely good. Slipknot seem to have most of their talent focussd in on the aforementioned members, whereas with Lamb of God it's more equally spread around. Love both bands; if nothing else they both have absolutely top-notch lyricists)

I agree with 'Stalin.' Music for the band making it is about them expressing themselves and them putting their emotion into their music. And for the fans it's how they interpret it because a song should never be limited to one single meaning or interpretation. Any song that does needs reviewing by the artist as music is an art form that people can relate to and feel emotion to in context of their lives.
Are you a nazi? | Reviewer: Stalin | 12/10/08
Well someone feels awful powerful don't they? I didn't know the music police was in town. Isn't music about what it makes you feel and how you interpret it? like any other art? yeah LoG might have their own messages that they put into the song and thats great for them, their expressing them self's through their music, which is intended in the first place. but for someone to bash someone else for them seeing the message that there is no god is just plain stupid. Thats how they see it, no need to get all pissy over something stupid right? right.
