Another Zep rip-off | Reviewer: Aussie doug | 11/16/09
What did Homer say? "There goes Jimmy Page, the greatest thief in rock history" - lol
Good track though. Drumming superb. But, essentially, Zep were a gimmick band, appealing to impressionable 14 year old kids by using double neck guitars, 30 minute solos and using all that wizards & dragons imagery.
The Stones are, and always will be, better. And trtuer.

Awesome. 32 and just getting into Zepplin now. Actually worked backwards with the Blues, starting with The Black Keys (awesome band, give em a listen). Physical Graffiti is my intro to Zepplin. Gonna listen to Number II next I think.
Blues at its best | Reviewer: Jakejayhawk | 5/20/09
Charlie, I love your passion. Remember, this song is Blues, not Rock. In fact, Zep was a formative band in the 60's to blend high power (amps, effects, volume) with Blues music. Clapton and Cream and Hendrix were the pioneers. Sure, Rock certainly existed going back to the 50's, but Blues was a critical element of forming Rock. Then, in '66, John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers featuring Eric Clapton released an album that put a new edge on Blues. Clapton used distortion intentially to create a new feel for the song. It was the combination of Blues and power that started what became known as Acid Rock. Listen to the first two Zep albums. Yep, almost total Blues albums. And yet most people hear that and do think Rock. Zep innovated, but they did so with the songs, concepts and ideas of the Blues giants (Muddy, Dixon, Little Walter, Sonny Boy, et al) and cutting-edge artists (Clapton and Hendrix). I hope you learn to appreciate and enjoy the work of these other artists. They are well worth the listen and only serve to help place Zep in the proper perspective. Start with Cream's "Sittin' On Top Of the World" live version.
PLAIN INSANITY!!!!!!!!!!!!! | Reviewer: Charlie | 4/13/09
This song is CRAZY good. Page's slide guitar work is something to behold. John Bonham must have been on steroids to produce a track like that and the chatter at the end of the song shows us what true Rock n' Roll is all about: Rockin' out and having fun doing it! Even though i'm only 14, i'm a rocker through and through Led Zeppelin is probably the only thing i'll listen to for the rest of my life. All the other kids i know listen to what can only be described as shit. My dad is the one who turned me on to classic rock in general. He was born in the 50's and went thru high school when Led Zeppelin was at its prime. I would give anything to switch places w/ my dad and be able to experience Led Zeppelin newest material. I Luv Led Zeppelin and always will. Keep on Rockin' everybody!
Excellent Slide Guitar | Reviewer: Digger | 2/5/09
Love this version - for those interested have a listen to both the Dylan and Josh White versions - it's one of the great blues song it may take a few listens for some to get into but I believe all the versions are equally good - just different takes on a classic. For me this version shines for the slide guitar, the drumming, it's full on intensity (the others are more laid back) and love the cough and banter at the end! Physical Graffiti is one of the best double albums ever made (yep I'm an old fan from the days when vinyl was it - still is!)
They were and still are the best | Reviewer: Contrary | 11/27/08
They will never be a band anything like Zeppelin. I got into them when I was about 13 and that was about 7 years after Bonham's death and the band had broken up. I appreciated their music and it carried me through the tough times of teen years. Their music was so different at that time when all that was on the radio was "hair bands" who all looked and sounded the same. Zeppelin's music sounded different from song to song and frankly there are not many bands out there who could do it like they could. It seemed all these other bands only knew a few chords and that was it...same song repacked over and over again. Zeppelin will always be my favorite band ever. Jimmy Page rocks, he has to be one of the best guitarists of all time. Read Hammer of the Gods if you (like me) weren't around when they were in their heyday or were too small to know any better.
By the way I'm a girl.

I really wish I could have been born then, god, Zeppelin is the ALL TIME BEST BAND IN THE WORLD, I cant name one other band that had such a variety of songs, sounds, lyrics and styles. This song can never really be matched by any other, especially when zeppelin performes it.one of my favorite songs, not only cause jimmy looks hot performing it, but because it truly is one of the best songs ever.
this is an old blues standard... | Reviewer: donald burton | 2/2/08
...but it doesn't take anything away from Zepp. They are the best ever, no doubt. Physical Graffiti is as awesome as it gets. How 'bout those lyrics on Wonton Women? Yea, baby....All bands since Led Zeppelin have tried to follow and outdo them. No way this is possible. The bands of today just with they could be a slight fraction of Led Zeppelin. I was fourteen and went to see them on the '77 World Tour....wow...talk about getting blown away... I invite anyone to listen extensively to their musical catalog. I'm sure they will fall in love with the music and be faithful. This is how the catch on from generation to generation. Rock-ON
