The first time I heard this song, I was blown away. It is hardly ever played on the radio over here (droned out by the cliche' and overplayed songs the are typical of normal classic rock stations). This is truely a great song, and it is clearly written to encapsulate TRUE love... A "situation which [CAN]" "EXIST FOR YOU"...

Hey Brendan. You don't learn about love in a fucking song, you learn it in life. I agree that many people are raised with "love lyrics" and go through their lives with idiot ideas about love, but love is a common emotion within human behavior, one of many. The only way you learn about love is living it. We learn by doing, you moron!

I'm sorry but i really wish there were more to these lyrics, cheesy love lyrics are awful. I have a nice Zappa quote that says it all.

You're a young kid and you hear all those love lyrics, right? Your parents aren't telling you the truth about love, and you can't really learn about it in school. You're getting the bulk of your 'behavior norms' mapped out for you in the lyrics to some dumb fucking love song. It's a subconcious training that creates a desire for an imaginary situation which WILL NEVER EXIST FOR YOU. People who buy into that mythology go through life feeling that they got cheated out of something.

this was/is the song that we felt for eachother as teenagers,now almost 15yrs later we found eachother and are working towards bringing our familys together-i didnt understand the words as a teenager yet always felt that love for him (only) and now after giving those words to him in a valentines day cards 20years ago i will be doing the same this year-i am truly grateful our lives and love has come full circle-corny yet true he is the love of my life...my world it smiles....

Every time I hear this song on the radio it gives me a great feeling of Hope, that someday soon I will meet my soulmate and we will have this as our special wedding song. Thank You for such wonderful lyrics!

I think this song is about robert´s wife Maureen (now ex)....so romantic....lucky lady!!, this is one of my all time favorite songs,just beautiful.

There are not the correct words into existance to explain the feeling (and how intense it is) in any language! I feel for most however, that it merely exists as only a dream. There are few select however, that have been granted a "once in a lifetime, if you're really fucking lucky" (so do'nt blow it!) opportunity to share their soul mutually with another. The bonds are unbreakable! The emotion is so intense, that each time I think about how I could ever possibly live without him, I am sure beyond any doubt, that I want to spend my very last breath in his presence.!!!! I am still breathless after he kisses me! Every night he is made aware that he IS MY MAN, and so shall he remain for the balance of his days! I love to give him all that he desires, as does he for me! He treats me like a lady and queen, so I too, make sure he knows beyond the shadow of a doubt, that my eyes only see him. He is quite spoiled! But he is very well of that fact, and reciprocates accordingly. I am a lady more deeper drawn into the man I have dreamed of all of my life!!!! Literally! I became best woman to my friend's wedding, and the groom chose this song to dance with his newly-wedded wife.I had never paid attention to the lyrics up until now.I think it is great! Infinite love is promised and cherised , and if my friend's husband feels that way, I cannot imagine a better companion for her to be by her side.

When my husband and I were getting married, we couldn't agree on our first song, so we were going to go with We've Only Just Begun by the Carpenter's. We were at a party that Sat night and the song Thank You was played, I walked up to my husband and said "THAT'S THE SONG I WANT AT OUR WEDDING" and the rest is history. We've been married 30 years now.
