Why I Can't Stand "True" Metallica Fans | Reviewer: Anonymous | 4/20/09
I have 4 reasons for this, and they are as follows;
1) If you consider yourself a "true" Metallica fan, most likely you will feel some kind of pride in knowing their history/all their albums/etc. like it has actually benefitted your life in some way. You will argue till the death about how you are a "true" fan and anyone who either recently discovered them, or only likes them for their more recent albums is nothing but a joke. But in all actuality, any Metallica fan who will do any of this is nothing but a joke themselves. They must feel like they hold some kind of power over the rest of the fans since they started listening to them in the 80's. Well I happen to be a fan from the 80's too, but anyone who picks up there music and it enjoys it, whether today or tomorrow, is no less of a fan than me. I'm a man not a child, Metallica grew up so why can't you?
2)So many Metallica fans are nothing but whiners. Goddamn, get over the fact that Metallica had cut their hair and changed up their sound. I still hear people talking about it like it's relevant to anything that Metallica is. Look, they changed their sound drastically after ...and Justice for All, I get that, but no matter the change their music never suffered. Grow the fuck up and open your ears. Load and ReLoad were 2 solid albums, end of story. All the little whiners will do nothing but whine about how those albums sucked, but any "true" Metallica fan will take time to appreciate them since they came from the band which they hold so dear. If it's one thing Metallica has it's an army of hypocrites for a following. "I love Metallica, but I hate half their albums" or "older Metallica is better"...Give me a break
3) Death Magnetic is nothing but greatness. Stop comparing their latest releases to older meterial. What are you stuck in a damn time warp? Their sound on Death Magnetic is more modern, it fits with today...same as their first 4 albums had a feel that fit that decade. And just to throw it out there, St.Anger may have been a little misstep for them but it was still better than most of the other albums released in '03
4)They will always claim Metallica are sellouts. But then they will go listen to Megadeth or Slayer and say "well I'm glad these guys stayed true"...news flash, Slayer and Megadeth have sold out too...years ago!! oh no, i can't believe it!!! In all actuality, most bands do. even some of the more extreme metal acts will at times sneak into the mainstream way of things. When it comes down to it, money is survival. That band you label sellout is also a job to the members involved in it. If they want to make more money at their job then why should they be held back from it? If you label them sellouts then any job you hold better than McDonalds should bring the same label onto yourself. You want/need more money but you'll criticise someone else for wanting the same...typical "fan"
well those are just 4 reasons why I can't stand alot of Metallica fans. I'm sure I'll see someone banging away on their keyboard and sending me a childish response saying how i'm wrong, i'm this, i'm that...i mean there are "true" Metallica fans that will read this so it's pretty much a guarantee to see someone whine about what i said

I think what the guy meant was that Load, Reload, St. Anger, and Death Magnetic suck. I'd have to agree. There are very few songs on Load/Reload that I like and none on either of the two newest ones I enjoy. I literally broke St. Anger in half when I bought it, the production quality was horrible and Metallica changed their style completely when Bob Rock decided to try to give them a new image.
The Black Album is the most famous because its a great album. Who cares if everyone knows it, they know it because its amazing.
Personally Kill Em' All ranks in their lower tier. I think that Justice is by far their best album, then Ride, then Master of Puppets and the Black Album.
Regardless, Metallica is an amazing band. I've grown up listening to them, and they remain by far my favorite. I just wish they would stop aging because once they all started to push 40 they just lost it.

"The Black Album, is everybody's Favourate Album as it has the Blatant Classics on it. (Nothing Else Matter's, My Friend Of Misery, Enter Sandman, Sad But True etc) I'm guessing by your Literature you've played Guitar Hero 3, Saw the song 'One' and thought this sounds prety cool, i'll download some more of there stuff. ...And Justic For All, in my opinion (And in probably most Metallica Fans) would be the Best or Second Best Album thye've released. To Live Is To Die & ...And Justice For All itself dedicated to Cliff Burton. Kids who think they Know Metallica just piss me off. Learn Your Levels Kids."
Actually, many people who consider themselves "true" Metallica fans would say that either of the first four albums is their favourite. Master of Puppets being the album that is said, by many, to be the best of all. Some say that the Black Album marked when Metallica first started "selling out". Their music is alot simpler and more accesible by the mainstream on the Black Album, thus gaining popularity with previously uninitiated fans but annoying many of the diehard fans from the 80's (appealing to the mainstream stands against what Heavy Metal is about).
I'm not sure if you were criticising the song "One", but it seems that way. "One" is by far, much, much better than any of the songs on the black album. It's funny how you back-handedly insult people who discover Metallica through "Guitar Hero 3". It doesn't really matter wether you discovered them looking through a record store in 1983 or if you discovered them playing a video game in 2009. Recognising Metallica's best work from their mediocre says alot more about your Metallica fandom than when you first listened to them.

i hate metallicas new albums. death magnetic is ok but kill em all master of puppets ride the lighning and ajfa destroy. i hate the black album cuz it is way over played. everybody and their grandmother knows that album and acts like they know metallica"
I Lol'd hard at that. I tried so hard to understand what you where saying and come up with this. 1. Death Magnetic is their new Album but since when has Kill 'Em All, Master Of Puppets & Ride The Lightning been new? Kill 'Em All was Released in 83, Soon after Ride The Lightning, (Dave Mustaine got Credit for the song 'Call Of Ktulu') and Master Of Puppets in 84. You made yourself look like a fool mate. The Black Album, is everybody's Favourate Album as it has the Blatant Classics on it. Awesome Song | Reviewer: Anonymous | 2/14/09
This song is badass. Its sad to see metallica ended up where they are now, but their first 4 albums will live on forever. The black album is good too, but Wherever I may roam is the only song that has lyrics that can compete with their old stuff. Everything after the black album sucks though, I appreciate them trying to go back to their old style but James lost his voice, even though he's better at singing now (musically) his voice doesn't have the same impact, making the songs sound weak.

Dude kill em all was their first album from 1983 or 84 I'm not sure. And master of puppets and ride the lighting were from the 80's. So I don't know what you mean by their latest albums. Try death magnetic and st. Anger there bud. How is the black album overplayed it has at least 5 songs all music fans have heard of. Dude I'm 14 and know more about metallica than you. If your gonna bash someone publicly, at least get your facts right.

...And Justice For The Rich | Reviewer: Mark Baland | 12/6/08
This song told it like it was 20 years ago, and is even more applicable today. The richest get "bail-out" so they don't have to use what they have embezzled to keep their embezzling machines going, while the workers on the bottom like me and people I know get nothing but higher prices, lower wages, and less jobs. It's only going to get worse. In the end, the only way to change it will be a REAL revolution, like in other countries throughout history.
just a thought about them | Reviewer: godfather | 11/17/08
metallica one of the last mega bands worldwide, like the particular tune and lyrics mean something not cheat on truth saying is poetic stuff but mean something deep about life, their names will last for thousand years. i expose my vulnerable side declaring myself a huge fan.
