The Reviews about Disposable Heroes (page 2/ 4)
------ performed by Metallica

you are completely wrong Sabbath. Master of Puppets is MAINLY about the control drugs have over people, but James has stated in interviews that it is really about being controlled by anything. Also, the cover of the album is not religious in any way. The crosses are not meant to be religious. The crosses are what are used in military graveyards, and on the cover you can see a soldier's helmet and dog tags hanging off one of the crosses. The song Leper Messiah is the song that actually deals with religious control

Your wrong, Master of Puppets should really be called disposable heroes. In case any of you haven't noticed, there is a helmet and dogtags hanging off the left hand side of the front-middle cross. Notice that it is an allusion to the D-Day memorial too. The only song about religion in this album is Leper Messiah. Even that is just about abusing religion to make profits so their really worshiping the dollar sign, not the cross.

The song "Master Of Puppets" is clearly about the church and its blind bible thumping followers. That is why the album cover has gaves in the shape of crosses, originaly it had a preist's hands moving the strings in the background to depict it's control the drugs are a metaphor not to be taken literaly

Awesome power and a song with reality | Reviewer: marty | 2/21/09

I think you should put yourself in the shoes of the person james is singing about. Then tell me what this song is about. I would not want to be him to tell you truth. I was him sorry but I am alive some are not. we all could have been disposable heroes to any political end game. Do you want to be him, while political leaders keep their children off the front. Back to the front to die.

UMMM | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/11/09

ummm, this is about a soldier's (not named cos he is universal) disillusionment with war and the military institution, "looking back...realise nothing have i done" and the eventual abandonment of that individual by the institution, "left to die with my only friend alone i clench my gun".. ofcourse its an anti war song..(duh) xd, i guess this song relates to movies such as all quiet in the western front and full metal jacket

WoW.... Clueless much?!? | Reviewer: HaHaHa | 12/24/08

This song is about the blind following of orders expected in the military. Keep that in mind and re-read the lyrics.

~metallica rulez~ Master of Puppets has absolutely nothing to do with the government in any way! It is about an addiction to cocaine.

this song is not about trying to be a hero- its like partially master of puppets-the government is pulling the army's strings and they do everything they want (master of puppets pulling the strings- twisting your mind and smashing your dreams/you will die when i say back to the front/you coward you servent you blindman)
its about the army- the graves in the logo of the album, attached to the government pulling hand.

u-huh... | Reviewer: mullet boi | 3/25/08

umm HI romainian dumbfuck on 1/16/2008, do u actually listen to the lyrics? Master of puppets (the song not the album) has nothing to do with being influenced by others, its about the hell one lives through when heavily addicted to cocaine, and Disposable heroes is not about trying to be a hero, it points out the irony of the military at large during WWI and WWII, how they call one a hero for enlisting in the army, and then calling one a coward for not following an order to jump into a rain of bullets in a pointless attempt to shoot back.

by the way, your english is fine.

Simply amazing.. | Reviewer: Dan Waite | 2/8/08

James has to be one of the best lyricists in a metal band. I think master of puppets is the best work they've done musically and lyrics. I love disposable heroes as its great to play along to (guitar) and the lyrics on leper messiah, you can really feel his heart go into it because of religion and his mum. Master of puppets although about drugs you can see he has had his own problems with drink ect..
Only bad thing is how CRAP they are now, or maybe im just gettin to old (34)
