ok... | Reviewer: Anonymous | 10/17/07
im not going to say that this song is talking about a book or what ever the fuck it is...cuz i dont know, alls i gotta say is that metallica is a good band, there older music was better, but their newer stuff isnt that bad, and the song - one - took me a while to understand, but now that i know what it's about, i think ill tell all these ignorent people to go to hell...some of you people must've just woken up...saying the same thing that all the other did...
RE: Amazing - Erik | Reviewer: Josh | 10/14/07
dude, yes, its a good song,...but bragging about meeting hetfield and living near him? you're a wanker, as is he. Being a part of a good song doesnt make someone a good, or amazing person for that fact,... He's merely an egotistical arsehole, without much due cause. Albums of note include those before the black abum. Those are good,....not great albums at their best.
10-10; for real. | Reviewer: rebeccaREVENGE | 10/4/07
listen guys.
what the fuck is the hardcore with the keyboard thing?
none of us check back on pages to see if people abuse us.
so why bother?
honestly.
this song speaks to each and every one of us differently. yes it is about johnny got his gun. but songs transpose meaning all the time. people are out there; in permanent vegetative states, most likely screaming this song in their heads, and you're all sitting at home with your keyboards acting high and mighty because you know where the song came from. well congratufuckinlations losers. you read a review in Thrashed or Guitar World and figured it out. While a doctor out there somewhere is walking into a room, grim faced, and a entire families are thrown into turmoil.
be proud of yourselves;
god knows you fucking deserve to take pride in what you do.

Not Deep? | Reviewer: Anonymous | 9/12/07
For those of you who have stated that the song is not deep or does not have true meaning, I encourage you to pick up a copy of Johnny Got His Gun and read it. If you wish to stay ignorant, please do so, MTV needs new viewers.
ONE | Reviewer: WALTER | 9/7/07
this is the best song ever!!!!! the classic of classics!! and it is true this song is addicted
Better than the source material | Reviewer: Darnell | 8/30/07
The song is about a book Hetfield read (called Johnny Got His Gun) It is basicly him telling what happens in the book. So it isn't as deep as you may think.

What does the originality of the story have to do with how "deep" the song is?
Anyway, the song is better and more effective than either the book or the movie of "Johnny Got His Gun". The movie is an allegory about the Hollywood blacklist (Dalton Trumbo was a blacklisted screenwriter and the movie reflects his feelings of impotence during the blacklist period), which limits its scope, but this song opens the story wide open, making it both personal and universal.
Even rappers love this song | Reviewer: J | 8/28/07
I am a huge hip hop fan, and African American. And I love this song, it's a great classic. Truly heart drenching and geniously written. I think this is an incredible song.
Much Respect
