I >SOMETHING< MSI.They had me at Straight To Video 2 years ago. Since then I have proceeded to become utterly obsessed with this band.
Fom their earliest stuff,(e.g.Do Unto Others)right through to Mastermind - I love every second of it. X)
A Band Like No Other.

Unique | Reviewer: Katiewindow | 2/6/09

That's one word for MSI; Unique.
I got introduced to MSI by a friend quite a long time ago.
They've got a sound and style that I've never heard in another band before. They're a little bit of everything throwed together. Which you'd think would make them sucky, but it somehow works.
They're good on CD, but they're even better in concert. They feed off of the crowds' energy, the more pumped the fans are, the crazier and harder they play. Plus they do some of the strangest, most amusing, disturbing, random and yet funniest things on stage. For instance, Jimmy wearing a wedding dress. Steve and Jimmy drinking Jimmy's piss (see YouTube video titled "MSI Pussy All Night Live in New York").
Do yourself a favor though and go to iTunes, Spiralfrog, Limewire (etc., etc.) and download some of their stuff from 'Tight'.
Their best album in the history of their whole career, by far. Though most of the stuff from 'Tight' is pretty freakin' hard to get ahold of. Nobody really listens to anything past FGWSSS. Especially since they discontinued the production and releasing of that CD eons ago.
If you're lucky though, some places will have it.

Some have say they've went "mainstream" and I disagree. Some also say they just don't sound the same... Jimmy doesn't sing the same.
To that I say, you can't make ever song you produce sound exactly alike. You have to morph sometimes. Plus, you've got to appeal to people's preferences.
For instance, Jimmy really doesn't scream as much as he used to back in the day when Tight and FGWSSS came out. The reason being he's older and nobody's vocal chords can take that much torture. Screaming all the time.
Also, must of you probably didn't know that Lyn-Z wasn't the original bassist. Everything from FGWSSS and back was Vanessa Y.T.
I'm not putting Lyn-Z down, she's a great bassist (not to mention insanely hot when she does backbends on stage). She has been playing Vanessa's stuff for many many years now, only just recently has she been able to write and contribute her own stuff.
Doesn't make them any less awesome. Doesn't make their new songs sound "craptastic." They're still MSI. They've just evolved.

Like they say themselves, while listening to their music, you must keep your tongue firmly planted into your cheek. If you can't humor sarcasm, then you shouldn't listen to them.

the song written in cold blood | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/23/09

i love msi, ive listened to them since fgwsss came out and loved every bit of it, then they came out with if which is good, but not as good as their old stuff.

then when i heard their new song "written in cold blood" it doesnt sound anything like them, it just honestly i hate to say it cuz i love the so much, but it kinda blows. they need to get back to how they use to be what they are becoming now is just popular and mainstream they need the old punk ass jimmy who always wore the pants that he cut into a skirt instead of the tight pants. dont get me wrong i still love them alot, just..they shouldnt change at all they were great to begin with. not really now.

M.S.I. | Reviewer: Jack | 11/16/08

I looked up M.S.I. after spotting the name on my brother-in-law's shirt more than a year before. One of the best choices I've made.

Mindless Self Indulgence is more psychotic than System of a Down, but doesn't mind showing off occasional harmonies and INSANE rhythms. Backmask Warning! is one of my favorites, followed by Diabolical (with the fortunate pick-less mishap at the end.)

I can't wait to see them in concert. XD

BEST BAND EVER | Reviewer: trey | 11/4/08

one of the most eclectic bands I've ever heard. trust me that says something because, my range is quite good. Now thanks to them Its even better. they're an Awesome band. I know Quite a few of their songs will be play long after we all die Shut me up is going to blare at my Funeral. Cause I just might shut up and stay out of the conversation.

mindless self indulgence has ruined my life | Reviewer: Anonymous | 7/6/08

before msi, i was a nice respectable little boy. then i went to a show. since then, i have gone bald, gone blind, lost control of my bladder, lost my toes, had my internal organs rearranged by themselves, and developed a horrible case of erectile dysfunction. DO NOT LISTEN TO MSI.
