This song reminds me of moving from Long Island to upstate NY, how bittersweet things were, how extremely mediocre it is, how bittersweet everything is, and mediocre everything is. I guess heaven is a place inside ur head..
amazing things... | Reviewer: Anonymous | 4/17/09
i think this song has a lot to do about the reason of human life before and after saying when the sun burns out we are going under ground and it dosn't matter what people think yet i am going to live and people are here for no purpose but to serve each other and were put on earth for no purpose. just my opinion..

I believe that this song is all about the sun and if there were human life on it. As well as if the sun had expired and the life-forms were forced to move underground. This is of course, is my personal opinion on this song.

thanks for that. i get it now. at first i was pretty put off by the lyrics, i have to admit. i first loved the song because of the way it sounded, not listening to what it said.
but yeah, i think you're right. i think that humanizing quality largely comes from the performance in the vocals, but yeah, spot on.

A beautiful song from Modest Mouse that has such an upliftig sound to it. It certainly has that Moon & Antarctica atmosphere; I wonder why they didn't actually put it on the album, I'd consider it the best track if they had. It has a humanzing quality in its lyricism, talking about the universal, cosmic equation and how that can be, at times, rather alienating when you're just a human being, but that's alright, because I'm okay with just being here to make more dirt; that's ok; night on the sun...
