one, tehy are not emo fags. two, these songs are not "misconstrueing" to teenagers. i am one, and i dont take these the wrong way. nether do any of my friends. and emo kds like me arent that bad either.

I'm an "old lady" of 34, and, growing up in the 80's and early 90's, had a friend who was into groups like Ratt, Poison, White Snake, and Great White. I didn't really listen to that kind of music, but was subjected to it by my friend sometimes! LOL I have been wracking my brain trying to figure out who sang this song and if it's from back then. I've googled and googled and nada. It's definitely a remake because I already knew the words and was able to sing along when I first hear MCR's version.

this is the only good song by these idiots. they try to copy every other band! they had to rip off the misfits with their astro zombies song! and it sucks arse compared to the misfits version! emo dicks.....

I would normally submit this via the proper way, but for some reason it wont let me, some bullshit saying I already posted a correction when I didnt. Its not "COCK IN THE MURDER MACHINE" Its "COG" As in a type of gear for a machine. Yours is the only one that I have found it as 'cock' All others have the proper 'cog'.

The reason for the controversy surrounding this song is not the song itself but the realization that some adolescents misconstrue the lyrics and understand it as an anthem of violence. For proof of that you have only to read some of the comments posted here (such as:"Yea! You should be scared!").

The lyrics are vague, perhaps purposefully so. Though "What you got under your shirt/Will make them pay for the things that they did" doesn't make a direct reference to violence, it clearly evokes the image of weapon concealment and retaliation. To believe otherwise is simply naive. I do believe the song is tongue-and-cheek as written from the perspective of the 30-year old who wrote it. However, as much faith as I have in the majority of teenagers to understand the song as it was intended, I'm disappointed by the responses of a few of these kids.

And by the way, I'm not scared. I have the sense not to confuse delinquency with outward appearance. Black clothes, dyed hair and piercing are much less of a shock factor than most students would like us to believe. Frankly, the secret lives of their teachers and parents are far more fascinating ^.^

This song is amazing and anyone into happy punk would love it. If you don't know what happy punk is you should be shot.

Sorry, but I'm pretty sure it's "Another cog in the murder machine." Cog, as in part of a gear of a machine. "Another cock in the murder machine" doesnt make sense, because its talking about how teenagers are part of the murder machine, not "cocking" it.

what does cog mean? I thought it was cock, as in "cocking the gun", and the lyrics are talking about a "murder machine" which could be a gun, they reference a gun elsewhere in the song. It doesn't matter to me, I was just curious.
Anyway, I am an adult and I LOVE this song, and I put it on my daughters myspace for her, it is an outlet for teens, that is what any kind of music is, it isn't encouraging violence, at the end of the youtube video a note from MCR flashes saying that they aren't encouraging violence and tells people to get help if they are feeling like acting out.
It's got a great beat and to me is meant to be more funny and entertaining than anything.

their music is awesome because their punk i love their beat thier huge in alot of countries.i love the band so much.they make great music and rhey have alot of fans. i dont care if ppl hate them their one of the greatest. bands in the world,yes they are worldwide.some ppl hate the band and say their posers and that their not really punk and they also say. their music is fake,that they lip syng but they dont ppl are stupid
