On another note, I don't think it is wrong to think a cover is better that the original version of a song, someone could be a great songwriter, but a terrible performer. I think that Michael Andrews and Gary Jules version of Mad World is better than the Tears For Fears original. And with the huge amount of writing that John Darnielle does, there's a LOT of Mountain Goats to check out. I've got three of his albums and saw him play live. I looked up the dresden dolls and they add absoultely nothing to the original song while the mountain goats seem like a terrible band in general. a good cover adds something to a song. take notes from the kooks cover of ace of base's all that she wants and metric's cover of dylan's dont think twice it's alright. i'm sure there's nothing like hearing this song live, however, in any capacity. i love neutral milk hotel and if you think this song is moving, you must check out Oh Comely, perhaps one of the most tragic songs ever.
