I think "the sex" has it wrong. The song is called "figured you out". At first, she's new, she's different, she's exciting. He loves everything about her.... then as time goes on, he figures out she's just a cheap slut drughead that doesn't care about him.

it's not about the sex | Reviewer: musiclover | 11/23/07
agreed, the group tends to find a good hook and hammer it down - em, er, that's kind of how rock works, cept for the gratuitous metal riffing. Nickelback rocks.
this song, appears to offer an ironic comment on a specific type of relationship. She degrades, he is drug down hypnotically into the degradation, he thrives on the mutual degradation, because he's hooked. He loves the way she abuses herself because it gives him a feeling of power and excitement, he hates the way she degrades and disrespects herself because it is a reflection of his own unsavory side.
Just like "rock-star", he is just commenting on "the way it is for some, sometimes." Sometimes for some, life is hoaky, without deep thought or deep morality, somewhat compulsive, but offering feelings of being alive and vital.
I don't think they are endorsing hedonism, just commenting on the key components.
yeah okay. | Reviewer: sarah | 11/18/07
I dissagree with Ryan, Nickelback is an amazing band. Not only do their lyrics and some of their songs reflect upon past experiences but it's something everyone can relate to.
Now this song has a little contraversy, but it's a lot better then some of the songs the newer bands are coming up with. They're music is unique and genuine. And Chad the vocalist has a unique voice which adds a little punch into their songs.
Nickelback would have to be one of the top bands of our time.

I think nickelback is the worst band ever | Reviewer: Ryan Ferguson | 5/30/07
I believe that Nickelback is nowhere near genuine rock....in fact it's cock rock....he's talking about a woman sucking his cock as a matter of fact in this song......the lyrics in every song are emotionally gagging and make me want to barf all over the place. I think their music is hororrible as well.....their riffs are continously repetitive in every song they have.....in fact I can type the rythym da-da-da da-da-da da-da dadadada da-da-da or something along those lines......the end.
