Evanescence and Nirvana are both great bands, in their own way. They have different music styles, and i can appreciate both. I agree that Evanescence's Lithium left much to be desired. I think Evanescence has several songs that are truely amazing (better than Nirvana), and some that aren't. Some are even bad, in my opinion. Nirvana has many songs that are good, and I've yet to hear a Nirvana song that i dislike. I believe that they even out in greatness. Nirvana has quantity, but Evanescence has quality. (Sort of) I think people should just respect both as great bands in their own right.

R.I.P. Kurt. it's a shame just a few short years in the music business before they were really ready and the pressures, marriage, kids was all too much.
all the greats will soon be or are already gone. such a shame

P.S: Kurt's "dead body" does not exist, as he was cremated, because he didn't want his grave to attract as much attention as Jim Morrison's did.

Fakeness? I dont think anyone has the right to call others fake who comment on here, especially someone so sarcastic and critical about someone who just spelt Kurt's name wrong. i mean, atleast there just showing some support. You don't need to know all the bloody facts about the band to enjoy a few of there songs. Yes of course music should be interpreted in the individuals own way but it should be open to anyone to listen to, no matter who you are. So get off your high horse and stop critisising others and just enjoy the fucking music. Its as simple as that really.

I know a little about this song, or at least I think so. And because I can relate to it, in some small way, it kicks ass! RIP, Kurt!♥
Also... I don't think Kurt killed himself, because of which songs fans liked or whatever that ramble was about... I think the real reason was a simple one. Kurt was lonely.

as it is, my childhood companion and friend is on lithium now. I won't say more on the subject...but I've always loved this song.. Nirvana, Kurt, you are...brilliant. I'm only sorry I can't come up with a more fitting adj. fucking brilliant.

I just read a majority of the feedback on these lyrics, I say majority because the stupidity and ignorance in a number of posts made it...unbearable, for lack of a better word, to continue reading. 1'st thing's 1'st to the person who said one of their favorite Nirvana song's was "I smell sex and candy"..you should be ashamed of yourself. Kurt Cobain, not Curt Kobain..Would be rolling in his grave had he read some of this himself. Kurt wanted people to think deep while reading his lyrics, the best part of Nirvana's music is the endless possibilities that cerain lyrics can lead you to, you can imagine a million different feelings and emotions from a simple verse of a song. Which in my opinion..is what truly makes music, especially Nirvana's really special. If you listened to "Smells like teen spirit" and consider yourself a true Nirvana Fan...You are a huge part of why Kurt later in life felt in a sense betrayed by music, he didn't get the same rush when he heard the audience applaud, and scream his name..because it was all a mess of commercial, radiohead, pathetic...FAKENESS.

The fucked up world of taking Lithium. Man it helps your Bi-polar nature but it leaves you so screwed in the head sometimes is it worth it. Now i take other stabilizers but some of my friends are still taking it. It sadens me so see then when they come round tottaly brain vegi. I appluad the guy for writing such a song on a difficult topic.
