I personally just listen to the music, not the words most of the time. And i was raised as a Lutheran, so i know what Christianity is like, and i know what christian people are like, and quite frankly they're fucking insane! sit down and think about if you had to tell someone who knew nothing about Christianity the story of Jesus. None of you know a damn thing of Aleister Crowley and the guy who came closest thinks the Old Testament is taken from the Necronomicon! The Necronomicon is a legend coined by H.P. Lovecraft. It isn't real. That doesn't stop the existence of at least 3 different ones in print! I am a Thelemite. Thelema was "invented" by Rabelais and organized into a mystical system by Aleister Crowley, taking elements from many spiritual disciplines. He did things that at the time were shocking and most of it would Not be so today. He certainly wasn't evil. I agree that it does seem to be from the perspective that Ozzy sings, that he is taking pity on Crowley. Nevertheless it is a tribute to him. BUT, make no mistake...satan is all over rock through and through. The musicians admit it themselves. Jim Morrison talked about this frequently, regarding his demonic possession and Satanism. Jim Morrison believed he was a shaman and that spirits used his body to influence the masses. And according to the better sources, even tho' Ozzy sang "did you listen to Satan's call?", Crowley didn't believe in an actually "satan" and he didn't talk to the dead; he believed in reincarnation.
