'Scuse me while I interject. Aleister Crowley, the man this song is about, was a satanist, sex symbol, and was also addicted to heroin. Seriously, Reviewer Zak, How did Aleister Crowley vanish a year before this song was released. Impossible. Aleister Crowley died in 1947 because of an infection he got in his chest. He was prescribed morphine, years before, for Asthma and he then got addicted to heroin. White Horse is also another slang term for Heroin. White Horse was a symbol for heroin. So you know, This song was not released until 1980.
Crowly and Scientology | Reviewer: Kay | 7/14/07
Crowly didn't start Scientology - he was a Satanist who was followed by L. Ron Hubbard, who then claims to have been the sole inventor of Scientology. Many of the symbols used in Scientology and Dianetics are Satanic in nature, according to L. Ron Hubbard's son and other ex-scientologists.
The cross used as the main symbol of Scientology is said to have been taken from the back of one of Crowley's Tarot cards.
Please ride my white horse is genius | Reviewer: Anonymous | 7/7/07
as is everything Ozzy writes. Everyone is so caught up in his image that they fail to understand his lyrics. White horse is "symbolically" "good"- meaning Ozzy is speaking for the side of good and trying to understand Crowley and why he chose the path he did (when Crowley began his quest as an adept seeking higher truths and then "fell"... very Darth Vader ;) ) Read the lyrics to Crazy Train. Ozzy is not evil or giving tribute to evil. He's a performer in the truest sense of the word. And he is wise from his mistakes and adventures. ;)

Crowley | Reviewer: Not Retarded | 6/12/07
Wow you people are slow. Crowley did not start Scientology (though some have theorized that it is a bastardized version of the religion he did start - Thelema), he did not believe in or attempt to summon Satan, he did not kill anyone (though at one point he published a sex rite and replaced words like "semen" with "blood" to make it look like it was a ritual sacrifice - he had an odd sense of humor), and he did not vanish. He died of natural causes in 1947. 33 years before the relase of "Mr. Crowley."
the truth | Reviewer: Zak | 6/4/07
My god people, Mr. Crowley was a man who sacrificed his maid to summon the devil then killed the rest of the staff at his mansion and dissapeared under "mysterious circumstances". This song is a tribute to him. He vanished a year before this song came out coincedence? I think not.
