I listened to this song and realized that it is quite possibly one of the better songs that can describe a break up or how someone feels after one. Made me cry the first time I heard it, but now I sing right along and know that at least someone else knows what I went threw, though I wish that no one had to from their own experiences.
makes me cry | Reviewer: Samantha | 5/19/09
This song makes me cry. I love it so much, though! Everything about this song reminds me of one of my EXs. Especially the parts about "you never wanted to stay, well did you", and "I put my faith in you, so much faith, and then you just threw it away". I personally think this is one of Paramore's best songs.

As Anon has said (very good post btw), people are allowed to like a song without being in love with a band. What pisses me off even more is when "fans" like you think they're better because they've been with the band since the beginning. I mean, who cares? It's not because someone discovered their music yesterday that they're less important that you.
And for your information, AWKIF came out in 2005, so you're telling us that you were a fan even before their first album came out ? When they were doing covers, when the band was not even officially "Paramore"? Unless you were in high school with them, I highly doubt it. That or you're not a real fan who knows when their (two) albums came out. Either ways, you're screwed.

this is an amazing song, one of my favorite by paramore.
it reminds me of a guy i asked out and he wouldnt tell me "no" to my face he had to have one of his freinds tell me.
"why dont you stand up, be a man about it?
fight with your bare hands about it now?"
definantly.
...and no, i dont have to be a die-hard paramore fan to like their music, laynaa, grow up.

Whatever happened to the world where someone could listen to a song and just enjoy it. I'm not a huge paramore fan, but there are a certain few songs I like, this included. So sure, I like Paramore just fine. A person doesn't need to obsess over a band to enjoy the music they produce. I can appreciate a band's songs without knowing anything about that band, or even if I disagree with some of their beliefs. Songs are made to be enjoyed and for the writers to express themselves. They aren't made so that a die-hard cult can be wrapped around them and have these people yell that unless you worship the ground the band walks on, you can't enjoy their music. So no, I know almost nothing about Paramore personally, but I can say that I enjoy this song. You saying that a person can't enjoy something because they aren't as mental as you are is just a disgrace to the very band you claim to love. Grow up, or get out. We really don't need close-minded people in this world like you...

Ahh, It really pisses me off when people are all like, omg i love paramore the fuhking rawk, when they totally dont know ANYTHING about them. Yeah, most people are liek that, eitehr that or they completely hate them. Hate them, or love them, you CAN'T LIKE them, okay? For a pessimist, is totally one of their best songs,in my opinion anyway, cause everyone does have their own opinion. Paramore has, and will keep, taking the world by storm, and i hope they still kep making the AH-MAY-ZUH-ZING music that their making now. Ima die hard fan, and have been since 2004, when they came out, Im super excited for thier next album comming out next year, SUPER excited. Whewt! Paramore Rawks t-t-t-totaly duude; [: </3

I Put My Faith In You | Reviewer: Anonymous | 3/21/08
This song is so... vague (is that the right word?) that pretty much anyone who's ever had a crush can relate to it. That's what I love about Paramore. Personally, I think this is one of their best songs. Depending on who you are and what kind of life you have, the lyrics will mean something different to you then they do to the nest person.
Personally, I think the song is about an almost-relationship where someone chickened out and ran.
Note the line:
"If You Give Up, You'll Get What You Deserve..."
