By stereotyping that certain people should listen to a certain type of music u r proving that u have no appreciation of the actaul music itself. Chances are you listen to only one genre of music and one genre only. Sure, they are pshyched when they hear fans say they've loved them since the begining because its obviously flattering. But all the fans matter to them because each preppy girl, punk rocker, indie geek or anyone else that buys their cd or a ticket to their shows is support and they appreciate that.
