Amerika is really a great song. Rammstein is one of my favorite bands. At first as I watched the music video, some of the lyrics bothered me (I understand German fluently)and some of the images. But if this band wants to speak out...why not let them? Besides, our country is based on freedom, of speech and almost everything else. So I think americans should be accepting of this song...even though it might contain some very unpatriotic messages. Every culture all tossed into a blender which was set to "frappe". I fully understand that countries with history going back thousands of years might be xenophobic. But don't mistake the world getting smaller for American imperialism. You can't live in your microcosm forever. this is dumb | Reviewer: Anonymous | 5/21/06 america is not a bad place, and if you hate it im sorry, i don't hate my country, i don't always agree with what our country does but again,its not MY fault, we bombed Afghanistan because they supported Al Qaeda, we bombed iraq because they supposedly had weapons of mass destruction,which i don't agree with.. we were in Vietnam because they asked for our help, we were in WW2 because we were bombed by japan, we tried not to go to war in ww2 but japan pushed us into it, we were in korea because the south asked for our help,we were in the first iraq war because kuwait and saudi arabia asked for our help, in ww1 we were trying to keep peace with britain and germany and not ally with any of them, but they kept attacking our cargo ships, then germany sent a telegram to mexico stating to declare war on the u.s so we were pushed into war, the civil war was us against us trying to sop slavery, and the revolutionary war was us against britain trying to gain our independance. you see the u.s tries to help people when they ask for it, but if we don't they get mad because we werent there and if we do we get spit on anyway,we are just trying to get the world to like us, we are still a young country, and germans have no right to make fun of america we have done nothing to them, other than fighting them in ww1 and 2 but again we were pushed into the conflicts by germany and its allies both time.
