The Reviews about Faking My Own Suicide (page 2/ 4)
------ performed by Relient K

what you tought is right | Reviewer: jer | 11/16/07

Yes, RK let Jesus speak in the song

("So, I've made up my mind
I will pretend to leave this world behind
And in the end, you'll know I've lied
To get your attention
I'm faking my own suicide...")

even a though "lie" indicates, it's just our own perception since we are sinners and know how to lie and we think that He does also. But in reality, it's the way for us to be redeemed for the sins we couldn't pay. It is a great song to hear and also remids us waht He has done for us

Well , part of what all of u are saying is truth.. This is about God , about Jesus and how he die for us to see if there we can see that we really love him..also he`s coming to life again to catch us..he will never leave our side .. and finally we'll laugh and cry togheter..

Thats what we played..

not really a cover | Reviewer: jake | 10/15/07

Matt is right. This was originally released by Matthew Thiessen and the Earthquakes. However, Matthew Thiessen and the Earthquakes is the solo project of Matthew Thiessen, the lead singer and song writer of reliant K. He originally released it as a solo demo but the final version is considered a Reliant K song.

ooh myyy | Reviewer: Anonymous | 9/7/07

Relient K = Christian Rock Band

they aren't pleaing suicide. its almost like sarcasm.
they're just wishing they could be dead for a day, to see who would actually care. christian or not, im sure everyones had days like that. just wondering who'd actually give a shit if you were around anymore.
And It may be on relient K's cd, but matt could be right. It could originally be by someone else, but its made into a christian rock cover.
Therefore you're both right. but Matt didnt have to say whoeever put these lyrics here is a moron. cause its on the cd.. duh

Hmm | Reviewer: Kelly | 9/3/07

well i love this song. i dont really think of it as a bible song or whatever but im sure it does relate to god. but the words sound so true, like a fairy tale almost without the suicide. i know suicide is bad but its still a good song.

Humorous | Reviewer: Anonymous | 8/19/07

My mother did the same thing(about overeacting)and she said to me: "turn that song off" i of course said why and then she said: "because it has the word sucicide in it" so then I had to explain the song to her. gosh she is annoying

shame on relient k?????????????????wat??? | Reviewer: n/a | 7/27/07

Ginny i really think that u r WAYYYYYYYYY overreacting about this song, relient k is 4 God!!!!!!!!!! they r saying they want people 2 care about them they want someone 2 realize that they truly do luv them!!! there is nothing wrong w/ relient k they wouldnt perform anything that gave a bad example!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! just look at all their other albums, u cant judge a band just reffering 2 one song! u cant say shame on relient k just cause of ONE SONG!!!

encouraging suicide??? | Reviewer: Lisa | 7/15/07

I really dont think this song encourages suicide at all..i think anyone who got that message really hasnt thought about the song all that much. Because it has the word sucide in it automatically becomes a taboo, but its really the opposite of encouragement.
Its really the idea that you may think that suicide is the only thing left because no one cares about you, but if you give up your life then you could be missing that chance because you gave up hope too soon. I think this song is beautiful, and it means a lot to me. I dont think reliant K should be shamed, they should be proud of another amazing song that touches people.

there were alot of connections.... | Reviewer: Ruhe | 6/14/07

have any of you realilized that this song actualy connects to the bible?
Jesus loved us, he died for us, and then came back to life. this song just immidiatly reminded me of that.
truth be told, i think this is one of the most depressing songs that RK has written (excluding the one that goes "i can smell the die from the sheets covering me, this is the end")
and i realy love this song. they might not have been trying to say suicide is good, just that alot of people think that sometimes it is.
i mean, i have often just said to myself that people would miss me if i was gone, and that they'd love me more, or forgive me more easily if i wasn't there any more...
I loved this song, and i love the fact that RK doesn't shy away from the uncomfortable truths.
