Take a look at the Psalms. As for the the use of the word "damned", it is not swearing in any form or fashion, they are using it in its literal meaning, the Bible says that "all men have fallen short of the Glory of God" and "the wages of sin is death", death or damnation. People always look at me so funny when I say that I'm an Atheist that likes this group. They have really great lyrics and sounds, and I seriously enjoy the fact that they try to get their message of faith out without throwing down the G-word every line. It means that I can listen to it with a non-religious mind frame and still get the same thoughts of love and stuff. Hell, when you get down to it, God is just a made up word for the feelings of love.
