The scream and softer tones are both effectively used without 'Army of the Sun', and the whole songs flows with a smoothness that is not normal for this genre. I also enjoyed 'Roads' 'The Rich Man' 'Baptized in the Redemption' and 'No Mas Control' from this album, which truly is an amazing piece of work. It's a love song - "You're my angel, you're the only one" - with all the usual guitars and stuff in. This should, by rights, make it an emo song, which is bad. But somehow this song manages to avoid being a weepy emo song, partly because of the sheer energy and passion apparent behind it, and also because it subverts the emo genre in one happy way - it's not "I'm gonna slit my wrists because he/she/it left me" but "we will be together again". This, along with "The End" and "I Don't Wanna Be (A Superhero)" is probably my favourite song on an album that's barely out of my stereo at the moment. Brilliant.
