Saosin has been one of my favorites for years =)
I agree a poster from above who said these types of songs can be perceived in many different ways depending on the individual themselves.
I see it a few ways.
1. The most sensible one would be Anti-atheist based. When asking,"What is my body worth?" He is directly mocking an atheist believer as if he was an atheist saying it. Now he now flips from playing the atheist to himself again and asks,"Was there a price set before?" meaning it has never been set in stone that or proven a fact that God is real, loves us and thinks we all are worthy but regardless believing in him you are ALWAYS worth it to someone. Believing "Its not going to change you." Then of course after meaning that, he asks why believe in nothing nothing at all.
2. I also think this could be about a past love because of the beginning.
"You'd better learn,
That this will not blow over, and over.
High above they're taking over you.
And you should know,
I will not let you go!
Let you go!
What is my body worth?
Was there a price set before?
There's something greater there,"
He's saying that SHE better learn that this = their love/connection will not fade...ever. This part isn't as easy to read but maybe he is referring to her brain saying THEY ARE as in her thoughts, feelings and memories taking over her. Then he is just letting her know he'll never let go. Next i think he is asking what his body is worth because he feels she wanted him because of his body more than anything else. Then he asks, before they were together, did she put a price on his looks, was it so valuable she gave herself. The he's stating to her there is something greater there than just a body of value, his heart, mind, etc. Then,
"We walk along but never turn
to see what we have done,
(What we have done.)
We choose our moves so carefully for you"
He states the first part in general, but psychologically he intends on meaning that SHE walks along and never turns to see what damage she caused. I KNOW this because he emphasized what we have done by stating it AGAIN after he just said it therefore throwing that sarcasm like YEAH....WE...Right. Then he adds that HE chose his moves/actions/words so carefully just to make her happy. "Its not going to change you" he means the something that's greater there would never change her.

I had to find a few songs to relate to the Vietnam war for a school project and I put my iPod on shuffle and this song came up. Suprisingly this song worked telly well, with the question of what to believe in, like Americans believed that we were fighting for nothing. And the line 'what is my body worth' shows the amount of caring the us government had for each soldier. Hahaha just thought I'd share another take on its meaning :)

This sound is about religion in a point of view. he is saying why beleive in nothing? and he could be asking God what his body is worth. That is 1 point of view and if u dont like it dont be a hater kai? :]

i love these types of songs that can be percieved in so many different ways. it gets tiring sometimes because the artist doesn't always give you enough clues to tell you what it's about. after a while, all the songs seem to be about the same thing depending on your mood.

I love saosin. So when I found out that Anthony Green left I was wondering how the band would hold up and they are doing just fine with Cove.
I think this song talks about being controlled. I dunno about what and maybe my opnion might change but for now, I think it is about being cotrolled and controlling others...so um yeah...It's really good too...
