It showed things from the perspective of the alcoholic driver and the family of the victims. However, the video clip is done in such a way that viewers sympathize with the driver more than the victim. It would have been more powerful if the clip had a more catastrphic incident with greater pains for both end members. After all, the goal of this song is to bring awareness to the people who drink and drive. He couldnt make it in this nowhere town where we live---so he stepped up to the perverbial plate and joined the United States Army. His Unit got word they were deploying to Iraq...to Baghdad. He was home for two weeks before they left---one afternoon, he and I sat down and shared our thoughts and our fears together, and this song came on the radio. He was very scared at that moment so we just held one another and cried while we listened. Sometimes at night when I cant sleep for worrying, I will play my Simple Plan CD and send love and positive vibes to him. It helps me keep "connected" you know?
