Slipknot is total mood music- you listen to it when you need to punch someone. Stone Sour is a little bit more versatile, though alot of their music has a great introspective quality to it, especially their first album. That's what I think.

I love both bands they r amazin. Stonesour is more 4 wen u u wanna chill out but u can totally tell tht it's more coreys style while Slipknot is alot more heavier but corey brings somethin 2 Slipknot tht i don't think anyone else cud, i've heard some of their older stuff frm b4 taylor joined and it's not the same the other guys vocals jus wasn't rite 4 the band.

Corey is a talent man. He can sing every fucking genre of music: metal, rock, pop, rap... That's the real artist. I first started to listen slipknot, and a couple months later stone sour, and I like both bands. Just listen a new slipknot's song called "snuff". Corey lives on!

stone sour is a better band than slipknot! ok thats just my opinion and i think its obvious that slipknot is more and they still would be without all the poser fans 9 reveiws here 100 plus on the slipknot page nuf said. but stone sour i think is better cuz the approach with them is more meticulous and level headed than that of slipknot. dont get me wrong i like slipknot and all but stone sour is amazing. corey actually gets to sing and write in his natural style which results in great lyrics. and stone sours first album is still pretty heavy not in a slipknot way but you know what i mean corey did pick up something from slipknot obviously. thats my reveiw all ya little bitches!

I Love Stone Sour. The meanings, lyrics, sound, everything about their songs are amazing, and I love how Corey Taylor uses his gorgeous voice instead of screaming although he's amazing at both. The rest of the bands instrument skills are perfect. This band kicks major ass.Period amen.

Right so I'm going to be blunt. But first I need to say something. My spelling sucks get over it. Now on to the matter at hand. Stone Sour is simply a great band. There is no argument about it. I'm a 20 year old roofer. But in my free time I'm a devoted Vocalist to a few diffrent local bands. I personally don't like the sound of Tyler's voice in Slipknot. But I do agree that they have a one of a kind sound with a few killer songs. But in Stone Sour you can hear his feelings and you can hear the emotion of the rest of the band threw the sound of the music. Let's take "Zzyznx Rd." for example. If you sit there and listen to the song really listen to it and listen to the message you can tell that they are in a great deal of pain emotionaly. That they miss there loved ones and want to be with them. Not knowing what to do anymore. In "Bother" Tyler is talking about his self destructive ways and how he wishes to escape them. Jim Morrison lived for the music, for the passion of being the one who's diffrent and just trying to live. With simple poetic lyrics, and steller tunes Morrison avhiced his goal and will forever be known as "The American Poet". Tyler is doing the same thing with Stone Sour and quite honestly he couldn't be doing a better job. I started listening to metal thanks to my boyfriend whose crazy about Slipknot.I've had big problems in high school(in Italy we call "fighetti/tunzettari" those jerks that go around dressed like faeries and think they look good)but I've finally found a kind of music that expresses all the hatred I've had inside for the last 5-6 years.I love Slipknot.And now I've started listening to Stone Sour and yeah,it may sound cheesy,but HEY Corey has a hypnotizing voice.I love Antonio.I love metal.I HATE FIGHETTI.Stay sick.Jessica.from Italy.

I think both bands are great. When I'm feeling more aggressive I listen to slipknot, and when I feel like laying back and chillen' I throw in some stone sour. I love both bands.

Stonesour is a pre-existing disease before Slipknot. It was formed in 1992 so everybody in here that is talking shit needs to do some homework. I'm not directing this comment at everybody its just I've read some comments in here and I just think people need to look beyond what they see and think before they post.
Slipknot is great, I love them (excluding the mistake they made with Subliminal Verses Volume 3) and I hope the album coming out in 08 brings back their older fans and knocks the unwanted fans that came during the subliminal verses era out of the fanbase.
Stonesour is the real Corey Taylor.

U think slipknot got were the are just because of corey taylor? it takes talent as a whole group and loyalty to your fans and hard etirmanation U just can't take over a band and espect people to repect u for it so kiss my ass and go back to listining to your boybands
